HTC launches first phone capable of running full BTC nodes

The new smartphone allows users to confirm transactions made in bitcoin

One of Taiwan’s most recognized manufacturers, HTC, launched its new acquisition to the mobile phone market, the  smartphone Exodus 1s that allows users to run a full bitcoin node on the mobile, becoming an innovation in the market due to this feature Unique compatibility with BTC, compared to other smartphones.

According to the information provided by the Cointelegraph web, the announcement was made at the Lightning Conference in Berlin on October 19, where the sale of the technological device was also carried out at a price of € 219 equivalent to USD 233, using the Lightning payment network. However, its presale is expected for October 23.

According to the Taiwanese company, the new Exodus 1s is a lower-cost version of the pioneer blockchain phone from HTC, which recently added bitcoin Cash (BCH) support. The new device is available for purchase with Bitcoin, Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Binance Coin (BNB) and Bitcoin Cash.

Exodus 1s availability

Initially, it will be available to users in Europe, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, while other regions such as Taiwan, Switzerland and Germany will enjoy the launching at a later date. This “most important ingredient in the resistance of the bitcoin network” has reduced the entry barrier for anyone to manage a node and participate in the global network, as reported by HTC Decentralized General Manager, Phil Chen.

On the other hand, more companies also remain in the same line. For instance, the decentralized crypto sales company Pundi X presented its Blok smartphone in the blockchain at the IFA fair in Berlin in mid-September. Additionally, on October 8, South Korean electronics giant LG was reported to develop its own blockchain phone in response to Samsung’s Klaytn blockchain smartphone.
