This Monday, a new cyberattack on the DeFi Harvest Finance platform was announced. The company confirmed through its account on the social network Twitter that a group of hackers managed to penetrate its system.

The theft amounts to 24 million dollars from liquidity funds managed by the decentralized finance platform. Given the fact, spokesmen for the firm indicated that the security protocols were activated immediately to safeguard their clients’ funds. They noted that they are “actively working on the issue of mitigating the economic attack on swimming pools of stablecoins and BTC.”

According to Harvest Finance’s initial report, the attackers who articulated the hackingtraded the stolen cryptocurrencies for renBTC (rBTC) and used Twister Money to mix them with other funds.”

Unsurprisingly, investors’ reaction was to rush to withdraw their funds from the platform, which initially amounted to $ 350 million from Harvest.

An important piece of information about the attack is that the company publicly indicated that they have enough data to identify the responsible of the hacking, as he is well known in the crypto ecosystem. In any case, the damage to the firm has been considerable.

Representatives of Harvest Finance stressed that their priority is to return the funds and that they are strengthening risk protocols to mitigate the consequences.
