GTF and Barcelona Tech City make alliance to promote digital finance

The aim of the alliance is to establish a collaboration channel to increase the possibilities of growth and development in the market

The Spanish digital cluster Barcelona Tech City recently teamed up with the German multinational GFT, as part of a strategy to “promote co-creation and open innovation as a way of developing banking for the future“.

The link will allow both companies to collaborate and benefit from the possibilities of growth and development in today’s market.

Although Barcelona Tech City is more than 30 years old and has collaborated with some 40 startups and fintechs, it doesn’t slow down its drive to continue developing new business models in all sectors, entering topics such as blockchain, cloud engineering, artificial intelligence and internet of things.

Carlos Eres, CEO of GTF in Spain, said that the collaboration with Barcelona Tech City allows the German multinational “to be known, access and collaborate with new startups, since the former have established themselves as one of the pillars for the startup ecosystem in Barcelona with international projection “.

Likewise, Miguel Vicente, president of Barcelona Tech City, believes that incorporating GFT into the partner panel “implies providing great expertise in one of the business verticals that will grow the most in the near future: the application of technologies such as blockchain, Big data or artificial intelligence will radically change financial services in banking, thanks to the interaction of companies such as GFT with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, Barcelona will be able to play an important role in this revolution”, he said.
