Government and producers set new prices for corn in Venezuela
In Venezuela, the price of white corn was set at $480 per ton and yellow corn at $440 per ton, according to an agreement between the government and producers
Through an agreement between the producers and the Venezuelan government, a new price was established for both white and yellow corn.
The price per ton for white corn was set at $480 and for yellow corn at $440, according to officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands.
This measure, regarding the current harvest, was taken in conjunction with representatives of the agribusiness sector and Venezuelan producers, as well as “representatives of financing programs, in a joint effort to stabilize the agricultural sector.”
It is important to note that the new price “represents an increase of nearly 50% compared to the $320 per ton paid during the previous season,” which is positive for local producers, “who see this measure as an incentive to continue investing in the country’s agricultural production,” and it also guarantees better conditions for covering production costs.
