Google will allow you to reject cookies in a single click

The company will start a pilot program in France, which seeks to make it easier for users to accept or reject cookies

Google changed its preference notices about cookies in two services that belong to the platform, YouTube and its own search engine, so that from this April users can choose whether to accept or reject all of them with a single click.

Preference notices have been in the eye of the storm due to their relationship with privacy policies. As Google indicates in a blog entry, cookies help a web page to remember and collect information about a user’s visit.

The company announced that, throughout this month of April, the option that allows the user to accept or reject en bloc will be implemented on YouTube and its own search engine. In addition, the technology clarifies that the option to configure them to your liking will continue to exist.

The browser explains that anyone who visits its browser and YouTube in incognito mode or without being logged in will see a new cookie preference notice. In case of entering with an account, the warning will not appear since they have already been stored in the browser.

This redesign will begin to be implemented first in France and will be extended to the rest of the countries of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
