Google will allow users to interact with characters of The Mandalorian

The new Augmented Reality experience will allow users to interact with the season's characters from home

Google has launched a new Augmented Reality experience with which Android mobile users with 5G can place the characters from the first season of the Disney + series The Mandalorian in their homes.

The experience, developed together with Lucasfilms studios to coincide with the launch of the second season of the television series, allows users to interact with the characters of The Mandalorian, as Google explained in a statement.

The experience uses Google’s augmented reality platform, ARCore, for which scenes have been created that allow interacting and responding to the environment, so that additional effects can be discovered based on user actions.

Additionally, using the ARCore Depth API application development interface, the application also enables occlusion, to make scenes blend in with the environment more naturally.

For now, The Mandalorian experience in augmented reality is only available on Google Pixel mobiles with 5G (Pixel 4a and Pixel 5, not available in Spain at the moment), as well as on third-party Android terminals with 5G, such as Samsung ( A51, Note 10, Note 20+, S20, Z Flip), Sony (Xperia 1 II), LG (K92, V60, Wing), OnePlus (7 Pro, 7T Pro, 8, 8 Pro and 8T), Oppo (Find X2, Reno 3), Xiaomi (Mi 10 family) and Motorola (Razr, Edge +, One).
