Google to eliminate country domains

The measure is aimed at optimizing browser searches. IP addresses and language settings, as well as device settings, will remain intact

The technology company Google has been working on improvements to its search system since 2017. In this sense, they consider country domains no longer necessary, so they will gradually disappear.

This does not suggest any problems or restrictions for local content, as the company will maintain the IP address, language, and settings based on the user’s location.

Recently, Google announced that it was time to say goodbye to “.es” domains, referring to country domains. This is just an example to publicize the measure, which will not affect navigation.

The company assures that the browser is ready to offer content adapted to users’ geolocation without the need to apply a territorial extension.
