Google tests message system to with blocked phones

The company, in conjunction with Android, is working on sending voice commands with the Google Assistant

Android is testing the function of writing text messages using voice commands with the Google Assistant from the locked screen, specifying the receiver and the message, and obtaining a confirmation of sending.

9to5 Google published some screenshots of the beta version of the Google application on 10.28 version, specifically the function of sending text messages from the screen blocked with Google Assistant. During the process of ‘Send the message by voice’, the screen remains with the padlock icon indicating that it is locked.

This function, which appears in an A/B test of the server, and to which the aforementioned medium has had access, shows that by sending the message without unlocking the screen, hands-free, confirmations are sent from the receiver, the sent and the message.

On the contrary, in the current version of the sending of messages with the Google Assistant, the application requires the unlocking of the device by the user for security reasons.

As explained in 9to5 Google, being an A / B test, it still does not work on all devices. The portal has been tested on several Pixel devices and works correctly in the Pixel 3 with Android 9 Pie they use, but it was not operative in the same terminal with Android Q or in a Pixel 2 XL.
