Google announces the end of tablets production

The company that launched its latest tablet in 2018 will focus its efforts on the manufacture of Pixel phones and Chromebook computers. That is Google will stop making tablets despite the decision to abandon the devices that were in development.

The search engine confirmed that the measure only affects the tablets, which represent a device that is practically all screen and that has no keyboard, however much one can connect to it.

It is worth emphasizing that other terminals with touch screen and keyboard that have the possibility of being used as a tablet such as Pixelbook, will continue to be manufactured without any type of inconvenience.

Employees of the company who were working on the tablets will become part of the laptops division. However, not much is known about the tablets still on production stage, beyond that they would be smaller than the current models and that at the time of their cancellation did not even have a name.

It is meritorious to remember that the present movement does not suppose the disappearance of the tablets that there is in the market, reason why Pixel Slate continues being available. Also, a new Pixelbook is expected to be announced before the end of the year.
