González Rodríguez: “The cryptocurrencies are perfect”
The president of BBVA highlighted the virtues of digital currency, although they are often used for incorrect purposes
The president of the BBVA bank, Francisco González Rodríguez, highlighted in an interview with CNBC that cryptocurrencies are “perfect” even though their frequent use is seen in illicit activities.
González Rodríguez also assured that the world is currently undergoing many changes in the economic and social aspects, which are leaving a strong impact on society. “We are in the midst of an incredible digital revolution.”
The manager emphasized that although cryptocurrencies have characteristics that make them “perfect”, the illicit use that is given to them today makes people to react very carefully.
With respect to the investments made by the Spanish entity in the Fintech area, González Rodríguez assured that to date “it can be billions, it can be nothing. But when BBVA buys a Fintech, we are buying options”.
However, he did not fail to point out the potential benefits that blockchain technology and DLT can bring to various economic sectors.
