GMO will launch mining device based on 7-nanometer chips

Sources say it promises "high levels of hash power" and much lower energy demand, something important for a congested network like Bitcoin

Through a press release, the information technology (IT) firm GMO Internet, based in Japan, announced that it will launch the first bitcoin mining device based on 7 nanometer (nm) chips in the world.

GMO informed that the innovative B2 mining device will be released on June 6, date from which the company will start mass production to guarantee that shipments will be made as of December of this year.

The characteristics of the artifact and its price will be published soon. Nearby sources say that it promises “high levels of hash power” and much lower energy demand, something important for a network as congested as Bitcoin.

In addition, GMO explained that beyond launching the new B2 miner for sale, he plans to use this device extensively in its mining facilities. Last year they invested close to US $90 million to successfully enter the cryptocurrency mining sector, including the creation of their own mining farms and their own mining hardware.

In fact, a report published earlier this month reveals that GMO has extracted 906 bitcoins (BTC) and 537 bitcoins cash (BCH) so far this year.
