Gab will accept payments with cryptocurrencies
The well-known social network of freedom of expression, Gab, announced that it will now begin to accept payments in bitcoin and litecoin
Payments in digital currencies will use the Btcpay server which allows any user to receive payments directly, without charging commissions, transaction costs or intermediaries.
In the same way, the invoice API format of Btcpay is similar to that of BitPay. Another important aspect of Btcpay is that users can keep their anonymity, as they do not have to go through the check-ups of “knowing your client” (KYC).
The platform server and support software can facilitate cryptocurrency transactions without users having to share their private keys. Besides BTC they can work with bgold, bitcore, dash, dogecoin, feathercoin, groestlcoin, litecoin, monacoin, polis, UFO and viacoin.
The integration of payments with cryptocurrencies can be a good step for Gab, which is a social network similar to Twitter created in 2016. It has raised controversy for having as users individuals whose accounts in other social networks have been closed, especially right-wing personalities.
