First blockchain notary opens in China

The office in Beijing traces the beginning of the era of the blockchain notarial service in China

The service was opened last week in the Beijing CITIC Notary’s Office. During the launch, the office director Wang Mingliang argued that blockchain-based notarization has the value of traditional notarization as far as the legal importance of blockchain certification.

For his part, professor Hu Jiyu from the Business School of the Law and Political Science University of China said blockchain has the advantages of low cost, high efficiency and stability.

It is worth emphasizing that the new notarial system allows the certificate holder to verify the content of the document by scanning a code. The integration of blockchain technology in the process will prevent falsification of documents and reduce the number of scammers.

On the other hand, the Chinese city of Guangzhou issued a commercial license based on blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It was issued in the administrative center of Huangpu District, Guangzhou, and represents the first commercial patent driven by decentralized technology and AI in China.

It is timely to remember that China leads the world in the amount of blockchain developments underway at present. Specifically, there are 263 projects related to the blockchain in the country, which constitutes 25% of the world total.
