Finnish financial authorities approve first broker for cryptos Prasos

FIN-FSA published the registry of suppliers that meet the standards of prevention of money laundering in the European Union, among which is Prasos platform

The first broker registered in Europe will serve as a Cryptocurrency Operator and Payment Institutions, according to the publication made by the Finnish Financial Supervision Authority (FIN-FSA) who ensures that the registration corresponds to cryptocurrency service providers that comply with the standards of prevention of money laundering in the European Union.

The publication states that only those suppliers of virtual currencies that fully comply with the legal requirements may carry out their activity in Finland. Subsequently, all digital coins operators who want to offer their services to European clients must register with the corresponding financial authority in their country.

For his part, the Director of Regulatory Compliance of Prasos, Jukka Karhapää, considers these advances as a positive change: “For the final user, the registry provides transparency in the use of cryptocurrency trading services”.

In addition, Karhapää emphasizes the importance of knowing the requirements of each client in order to “evaluate potential risks related to money laundering and terrorist financing benefits both consumers and businesses in this industry. It is also a great help to increase the confidence and reputation of the general public in the growing cryptocurrency sector.”

It is important to mention that Prasos Ltd is a Finnish startup focused on bitcoin and blockchain technology, founded in 2012 and having more than 80,000 clients on its platform.
