Facebook will reward those who find vulnerabilities in the platform

The social network prepared a new rewards program with Hacker Plus, which will provide incentives for people who dedicate themselves to this task

Facebook expanded its rewards program with Hacker Plus, with which it will award additional prizes to researchers based on their position in a ranking for the vulnerabilities they have found and the bug reports they have made.

Hacker Plus began operating this Friday as a “program designed to distribute an additional reward” All researchers who have made at least one valid report of a vulnerability and have received a reward within the ‘Bug Bounty’ program can participate in it.

Participants will be classified in a ranking based on a score that will take into account the vulnerabilities they have found in the last twelve months and the rate of bug reports, with respect to those that finally turned out not to be, of the last 24 months.

Depending on their position in the ranking, which goes from Bronze to Diamond, they will receive different additional rewards, as explained on the program page.

Facebook defends that with Hacker Plus they offer “additional recognition and awards” to the research community for their “significant contribution” to the rewards program and the security of the company’s services.
