Facebook launches dark mode for web

The social network has begun to adopt this way of making its tools visible on the different platforms

Facebook began to implement the new design of the web version of its social network, which is already available for some users as a test and with the dark mode option.

The company based in California (United States) announced in April 2019 that in the following months they would extend their new design to all users. And now according to reverse engineering expert Jane Manchung Wong, this design update is now available to several users.

When logging in, some users have encountered a message that allowed them to refresh the page and access the new design.

Manchung Won has been testing the new design for the past few months and as reported from his Twitter account, the dark mode feature is available. However, this mode does not adapt to the system configuration automatically, but must be done manually.

The redesign, announced during the F8 developer conference, implies, for example, a new Groups tab, which shows a personalized feed of the activity of the groups that the user follows. It also has a new discovery tool with recommendations on groups that may interest you.
