The social network Facebook announced this Friday that it appointed a new director of engineering for business development and blockchain projects.

This area will now be under the command of senior engineer Evan Cheng, who will now serve as Director of the Department.

Prior to this, engineer Cheng was in charge of the area of ​​programming languages ​​and runtimes on Facebook for three years. He also worked for 10 years at Apple.

Cheng has also done work as a technology advisor in blockchain projects for several startups such as Zilliqa and ChainLink.

For some time now Facebook has been receiving requests for the incorporation of cryptocurrency products and services, to give an impulse to the use of virtual currencies.
