Facebook expects new crypto to gain acceptance by authorities
The company's chief executive stated that it is time for regulators to let Facebook move forward with its crypto
The popular social network Facebook plans to boost its cryptocurrency with a new name next year. However, the final decision is up to financial regulators.
David Marcus, head of Facebook Financial or F2, assures that it is the right moment for regulators to positively estimate the new changes in the network and allow said company to continue advancing in its project.
Marcus said, “I don’t think what we’re asking for is immediate trust. I think what we’re asking for is at least to have the benefit of the doubt.”
Further assuring that “all those things that we have done that have created all kinds of complications in the execution of this vision is a good reason to give us the benefit of the doubt in terms of our intentions and what we plan to do here.”
So far, Facebook must wait for regulatory approvals and then put its cryptocurrency, as well as the associated wallet, into action.
