The social network enables a function to delete data that third parties collect on the network

The American social media company, Facebook, has launched a new tool to review and delete user data collected by the platform. According to the platform, the main objective is to improve the privacy practices in the system in order to offer a better service to its customers.

The executive director, Mark Zuckerberg, said that the tool offers “a new level of transparency and control” which has been shaken by the revelations of recent years on how it captures and manages the data of its users.

In addition, Zuckerberg added that they have been “working on this for a while because we had to rebuild some of our systems to make this possible.”

It is known that the company, since its inception, has been in constant innovation in the system and its services in order to remain as one of the means willing to meet the needs of its users.

As for the operation, Zuckerberg said that the tool has some variables to select certain advertisements. “Other companies send us information about your activity on their sites and we use that information to show you relevant advertising for you. Now you can see a summary of that information and delete it from your account if you want.”
