These states contribute more than 3,000 jobs and ensure the supply of this nationally produced product. This was confirmed by the government agency, which, in conjunction with the Venezuelan Sugar Corporation (CVA Azúcar), plans to revitalize the “technical and operational rehabilitation aimed at consolidating self-sufficiency in the national market.”

The 2026 Comprehensive Agro-industrial Plan “promotes milling and refining at the country’s main sugar mills. These advances guarantee solid production to cover national domestic consumption.”

Specifically, by region, in the state of Yaracuy, full operations are reported in the municipality of Veroes. The reactivation of the Santa Clara sugar mill has allowed for the processing of 38,000 tons of muscovado sugar to date. “The industrial infrastructure is maintaining its maximum refining capacity of 600 tons per day, projecting a surplus of 33,500 tons of white sugar and 800 tons of molasses.”

In Sucre state, in eastern Venezuela, milling targets are being met at the Cumanacoa mill. The sugar mill of the same name “reports 100 % progress in its refining areas and 85% in milling.” The complex, located in the Montes municipality, anticipates the start of the harvest at the end of April to process a volume of up to 50,000 tons of sugarcane.

Meanwhile, in Zulia state, the expansion of planting is underway in the South of Lake Maracaibo. The Venezuela Sugar Agro-Industrial Complex, in the Sucre municipality, is prioritizing agricultural development to guarantee raw materials for the upcoming cycles. “After completing a milling of 33,976 tons, the state-owned company activated the planting of 524 hectares of sugarcane at the UPSA (Sugar Agro-Industrial Unit) Torondoy.” This investment in the field guarantees the plant’s operational sustainability and “strengthens the social base by generating 1,200 indirect jobs.”

The new Bancamiga service point provides facilities to Zulians and Venezuelans from different states or entities, as well as innovative products

Within the framework of this alliance, Venezuelans will also be able to pay their electricity bill through Bancamiga online, in a first phase in the states of Zulia, Táchira, Mérida, Lara, Falcón and Trujillo, a benefit that will soon be extended to the entire country. They will also be able to cancel the receipt for Bancamiga points of sale, the most modern and versatile on the market, in the coming days.

The executive president of Bancamiga Banco Universal, Ariel José Martínez, expressed his satisfaction for the alliance with Corpoelec and that precisely this ticket office is opening its doors in Maracaibo, one of the most thriving cities in the country and capital of a state like Zulia, with enormous oil, livestock and industrial potential.

“Every day that passes, Bancamiga extends its presence in Venezuela. Yesterday with the inauguration of Unare, in Bolívar state, we reached 39 agencies. Today, with this external ticket office, we add our third service point in this region, which already has an agency in Maracaibo and another in Ciudad Ojeda, through which we approach Venezuelans so that they can learn about our products and services,” he said.

The manager of the Bancamiga Maracaibo agency, José Sánchez, indicated that the ticket office becomes a new space in Zulia to bank more Venezuelans.

With the incorporation of Corpoelec, Bancamiga Banco Universal reaffirms its interest in offering solutions -both easy, safe and comfortable- for its customers and the public.

Initially, the national president had announced the measure for 10 states, however, he later reconsidered and extended the measure to the 23 institutions of the country.

Maduro stressed that this will be the first time that Venezuela has experienced a weather phenomenon of this type.

“A phenomenon like this was not known about Venezuela. A cyclone that came to hit the coasts directly from Venezuela, our generation does not know. All the studies, all the projections, say that this is a new phenomenon as a result of the warming of the seas, of global warming, of climate change”, he stated on a national network.

According to estimates, the cyclone is expected to “hit hard” Sucre state, the Paraguaná Peninsula and part of Zulia state.

The new offices will be located in Porlamar, Nueva Esparta state; Acarigua and Guanare, in Portuguese; and in Maracaibo, Zulia state.

In the spacious, comfortable and comfortable spaces, Bancamiga staff will be available to meet customer needs quickly and efficiently, says a statement from the banking institution.

Ariel Martínez, president of Bancamiga, indicated that “the inauguration of the four agencies is one more step to comply with the objectives and general guidelines of the bank and with which the institution reaffirms its commitment to clients and to Venezuela.”

The first branch that will come into operation will be that of Porlamar this Thursday, November 11.

For Martínez, the new agencies are of transcendental importance because they are the first that Bancamiga will have in those states, which will bring the institution’s innovative products and services closer to clients in Nueva Esparta, Portuguesa and Zulia.

“We are one of the few organizations that this year has been concerned about opening new offices. We believe that these are important steps to promote the development of the country and that our citizens have greater financial facilities,” he explained.

Sustained growth in favor of customers

The new offices will be specifically located at the following addresses:

Rattan Shopping Center, stage II, local P4, PB, Edificio 1, Porlamar, Nueva Esparta State.

Avenida 15, downtown Maracaibo, Las Delicias sector, Maracaibo, Zulia State.

Thus, Porlamar, Acarigua, Guanare and Maracaibo join the agencies in Caracas located in Altamira, La Castellana, Chacao, Propatria, Sabana Grande, Cementerio, Palo Verde, Parque Humboldt, La Rinconada and Ibarras; plus Los Teques, Charallave Sur, Santa Teresa del Tuy and Guatire, in the state of Miranda; Maiquetía, in Vargas; Plaza Gallery, in Maracay (Aragua); Boulevard Plaza and Guaparo, in Carabobo; Puerto Ordaz and Upata in Bolívar; Puerto La Cruz, in Anzoátegui; Maturín, in Monagas; Barinas, in the state of Barinas, and Barquisimeto, in the state of Lara.

The victim, who lived in the Taparito sector of the aforementioned municipality, was captured by criminal gangs when he was in the company of his family.

It was learned that after the kidnapping took place, the captors established contact with his relatives to demand the atypical sum for his release, but the kidnappers finally murdered him.

At first the kidnappers wanted 1.5 bitcoin to free Torres; however later they lowered this amount to 0.5 bitcoin.

It was learned that Torres’ family could barely raise about $ 3,000, but since they could not reach the total sum, they murdered him.

The authorities presume that those responsible for taking Gustavo Torres and then killing him could be some of the victim’s friends, due to the way they acted and the abnormal ransom request they were asking for his release.

The governor of the state of Zulia, Omar Prieto, spoke about the possibility of Venezuela having its own “bitcoin city.”

This project would be based on a “healthy and modern trading system with cryptocurrencies” that can be used and exploited to a great extent by the entity’s businesses.

The proposal, in the words of the governor, has already been discussed for some time with “important allies” of Zulia.

The initiative seeks that local businesses can receive digital currencies, including bitcoin, dash and petro, the cryptocurrency promoted by the Venezuelan government, among their forms of payment. According to Prieto, the payment system seeks to solve the problem of shortage of dollars in cash, with the aim of “protecting the consumer.”

Although Prieto did not provide too many details about what the deployment of the “bitcoin city” project will consist of, he explained that the new system will include a rechargeable card with cryptocurrencies. He noted that it is “a new card that we are working on” and that it will allow to pay with digital currencies in different businesses.
