Of that total, 71 % of the wealthiest people have invested in cryptocurrencies, which indicates that digital assets are conquering spaces within the financial strategies of people with a higher economic level.

The consulting firm interviewed “2,970 rich men and women in 24 important wealth markets in America, Europe and Asia-Pacific” in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the preference for emerging cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, stablecoins or altcoins.

Within the conclusions of the Capgemini study highlighted the growing demand of people for information on the crypto market, particularly among the richest people in the world, many citizens expressed their desire to improve their “educational skills” in order to fine-tune their decisions to when managing your investments.

Young people prefer investments in cryptocurrencies

The research also highlights that younger investors have an even greater affinity with cryptocurrencies, to the point that 91 % of those interviewed are part of the crypto market.

According to this scenario, the study recommends that “crypto and blockchain technology will attract the attention of wealth management companies.”

“As the adoption of digital assets (cryptocurrencies, ETFs, NFTs, metaverse-related products, and digital currencies) grows, wealth management firms will need capabilities around products and education. Additionally, ecosystem partnerships will be necessary to create a diversified portfolio of digital offerings,” explained the company on the document.

Its execution is possible thanks to the Social Investment Fund, the flagship program of Venezuela sin Límites, which has promoted high-impact projects for more than 17 years.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 4, Quality Education, Option Venezuela has launched this project that seeks to offer answers to: the deficit of teachers and teachers, they’re outdated and the low proportion of teachers with qualifications minimum required in digital skills, vocational guidance, employment promotion, decent work, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, among others (target and indicator of SDG 4.4); as well as the low degree of incorporation of education for sustainable development, including gender equality and human rights in curricula, teacher training and student assessment (target – SDG indicator 4.7) .

In response, the Educational Network for Sustainable Entrepreneurship was born, a proposal for raising awareness and training available for teachers and students in matters of life purpose, entrepreneurship and sustainability, which has more than 150 testimonials from Venezuelan entrepreneurs, who thanks to the power of their stories (storytelling), provides value and inspiration to the participants of these training experiences.

A methodology of sustainable options for Venezuela

The program was carried out in three phases: in the first, a training design for raising awareness and training in skills for sustainable entrepreneurship was created, with workshops on life projects, entrepreneurship and sustainability, as well as sharing inspiring testimonies. In the second, promoters were trained in the three key issues who became the replicators of these contents among adolescents and young people.

Students of the workshop carried out in Maturín

In the third, they carried out more than 30 workshops in 11 states of the country (Aragua, Bolívar, Carabobo, Capital District, Lara, Miranda, Monagas, Nueva Esparta, Yaracuy, Táchira and Zulia), beginning the formation of a network of more than 600 young people and adults, between 15 and 24 years old, who attend schools, high schools, universities or are linked to youth organizations, who from now on will begin to incorporate notions of sustainable entrepreneurship into their professional practice, in a world that increasingly demand.

The initiative is driven by the potential of the network of facilitators and promoters that Option Venezuela has been weaving in more than 10 states of the country, as well as the wealth of testimonies, content and tools for Venezuela and its young people to seek to move from the “disappointment” and “resentment” at the ambition to undertake sustainable options for the future. “It motivates us to bet on the construction of a productive, supportive and sustainable country. Productive that stimulates manufacturing instead of selling raw materials (oil, minerals); in solidarity with the victims of the complex humanitarian emergency and those who are not yet being strengthened in their capacities to be able to live autonomously and entrepreneurially in Venezuela; sustainable since it is a priority to promote a development model that is committed not only to economic growth, but also promotes solutions that reverse global warming and also generates a positive impact on people”, said Félix Ríos, Co-Founder and President of Option Venezuela AC.

Opción Venezuela empowers responsible leaders

Option Venezuela, which this year will reach two decades of work, has been inspired by the purpose of empowering responsible leaders, from schools, communities, companies, among other collective spaces, so that through their undertakings and initiatives build “the world you want in the world you have.”

With this proposal, a network experience is promoted that offers young Venezuelans a space for reflection on their life purpose, the possibility of undertaking, in addition to incorporating the vision of sustainability. “It is also inspiring for the workshop participants to show them the stories of Venezuelans, talented people who make a difference, inside and outside our borders, who reinvent themselves in the face of difficulties, are resilient personally and from their most varied initiatives” Rivers shares.

As an example of the power of testimonies, there are the stories of Ron Chávez (humorist), Selene Quiroga (pianist) and Maickel Melamed, who have been able to enrich the workshops on life projects; the experiences of Andrés Simón González (Venemergencia – Asistensi), Claudia Valladares (Impact Hub Caracas), Jeserik Pinto (Olympic swimmer) and Fernando Rodríguez (cuatrista musician), those of entrepreneurship. While the stories of Andrés Solorzano (Leather Heart), Mafe Vera (Melao Lab), Andrea Martínez (Zona Rasta Family), Feliciano Reyna (Acción Solidaria) and Luisa Pernalete (Fe y Alegría); they have contributed valuable ideas to talk about sustainability; among other testimonies available on the Youtube channel of Option Venezuela AC.

Learn more about the results

The objective of the study is to determine whether the way in which the company “designs, operates and markets its platform has a negative effect on the health of children, adolescents and young adults.”

The group of prosecutors is focusing the investigation on the methods and techniques used by the social network. The algorithm used by TikTok allows establishing the type of content that is exposed to users “and is very effective in keeping them interested”

The representatives of the company have explained on other occasions the operation of the social network. However, prosecutors want to delve into the methods and techniques used to “boost the participation of its users, as well as the length of time they usually spend on the platform.”

TikTok’s reaction to the lawsuits

It is not the first time that the social network has faced an investigation or lawsuit. In 2019 the company had to pay 5.7 million dollars to the FTC to solve the accusations that its “predecessor: Musical.ly.” A platform that was denounced because it did not have the necessary permissions from “the parents of young children who had signed up to use the app.”

Additionally, that agreement intended that TikTok also limit the way in which users “under the age of 13 interact with the content of the application”. Recently, another group of researchers expressed concern about the “few studies that had been carried out on the possible impact of the platform on mental health.”

Ben Rathe, a spokesman for the social network TikTok, expressed his opinion about the investigation being carried out by the attorneys general and indicated that his company “appreciates that the state attorneys general focus on the safety of younger users.” And he noted that the company hopes to provide all the “information about the many security and privacy protections they have for teens.”

The prosecutors’ investigation has other companies responsible for other social networks on the lookout because both Meta and Snapchat are modeling inspiration on TikTok in order to improve or develop their applications.

The highest representative of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, said: “We believe that building Instagram Kids is the right thing to do, but we are going to put this work on hold” and will focus on improving parental control tools.

The Wall Street Journal published a series of articles reflecting the results of an investigation carried out by Facebook, which shows “that Instagram is harmful for a part of its youngest users and that it was especially toxic for adolescents, since it aggravates the problems that one in three girls have with their body image.”

For its part, Facebook, owner of Instagram, expressed its disagreement with the publications made, claiming that the results of its research detail both the positive and negative experiences of young people on social networks and the objective of the study was to “improve the application.”

Mosseri insisted that the project was misinterpreted. He explained that Instagram Kids is aimed at children under 13 years of age and parents “have the option of giving their children access to a version of Instagram designed for them, in which they can monitor and control their experience.”

He stressed that currently children receive phones from the first years of life and other social networks are already executing particular projects for a child target, referring to YouTube and TikTok, which already have a version for children under 13 years of age.
