Microsoft announced the end of WordPad after almost three decades after introducing it in Windows 95 and that it will not transfer this service to the future version of the operating system that it develops.

WordPad is a basic word processor, with options to choose from such as the font or the ability to justify text, which are included in many versions of Microsoft Windows and which came to it in 1995.

The company indicated that it will stop including this service in its operating system and that it will no longer be updated, as detailed in a post on its blog, where it also recommended the use of another text application, Microsoft Word, for .doc rich text documents. and .rtf.

Microsoft has also advised the use of Windows Notepad for plain text documents, though it has not provided details on when it will remove it from the operating system entirely.

It should be remembered that the company has announced this discontinuation just a few days after announcing news for this other service, which will be updated with functions such as automatic saving and automatic restoration of tabs.
