Although it is not a serious problem, it does bother users who use emojis daily. In this sense, the company has confirmed that “build 26120.1350 has an error with the emoji panel that closes automatically.”

The same situation occurs when the user tries to switch to the kaomoji and symbols sections, “or after selecting an emoji.”

Other setbacks that also arise from this update affect the task manager blocking when moving from one page to another, as well as when adding optional languages.

Microsoft has indicated that its technicians are working to provide a solution to these errors that have become a nuisance for the common user and developers.

Microsoft will introduce support for the latest generation of the USB standard in an upcoming Windows 11 update, after enabling support for USB 80Gbps to developers participating in the Insider program.

Build 23615 of Windows 11, available for preview on the Dev channel, introduces support for USB 4, initially for computers with 14th-generation Intel Core HbX processors, presented at the latest CES 2024.

This USB standard is compatible with earlier versions of USB and Thunderbolt and supports USB Type-C features, as noted in a post on the Windows Insider blog.

The company also seeks to increase the prominence of its Copilot assistant, by automatically opening this service with the start of Windows on wide-screen computers. This is an option that users will be able to activate from the Customization section in the configuration menu.

And it has expanded the capabilities of the Share feature on Edge and other browsers, which now allow URLs to be directly compatible with WhatsApp, Gmail, X, Facebook and LinkedIn.

The company announced the introduction of a key dedicated to Copilot, its generative artificial intelligence assistant, as reported on its official blog.

Copilot, which has become a core element of the Microsoft operating system user experience, is now integrated directly into the hardware. This assistant has stood out in recent months for its usefulness in a variety of features, from Bing searches to Microsoft 365 tasks and new capabilities on Windows.

The debut of the Copilot key will take place with the new models of computers running Windows 11, initially presented at the CES consumer electronics fair. These models will be available at the end of February. In addition, Microsoft confirmed that this innovation will also be incorporated into future Surface computers.

The new Copilot key will coexist with the traditional Windows key, marking a step forward in integrating AI into users’ daily lives.

Among rumors and information leaks about the new update, it has been announced that Windows 12 will be launched next year, presumably with more requirements for users and a focus on artificial intelligence.

The Windows Insider post on the old social network Twitter summarizes the publication of a user who “shared images related to Office 2024 Preview, and who also commented that the launch of Windows 12 would occur in 2024.”

Taking into consideration already known aspects of the previous versions of the most used operating system until now, it is very possible that the launch of the new update will occur by the end of 2024 in open beta.

“When its official launch occurs, Windows 12 will have to coexist for a time with Windows 10, which ends its support cycle in October 2025, and with Windows 11, which has a much longer life cycle ahead.”

Users will, at best, be able to upgrade for free from Windows 10 and Windows 11, making the process much easier for those who do not have the means to pay the full cost.

The company highlighted that “the new era of AI” has begun, which will change the way in which users relate to technology and will offer multiple benefits. In this sense, Microsoft already presented its new assistant powered by AI Copilot last May, after which it launched the public preview of this assistant in the Windows 11 Insider update for the month of June.

Now, Microsoft announced that Copilot will come to Windows 11 in update 23H2, which will be released next Tuesday, September 26. With this integration, the context and intelligence of the web, the users’ work data and the actions being carried out on the PC will be combined “in a unique way.”

In this way, the aim is to provide better assistance to the user in their tasks, with privacy and security “in the foreground“, as the company explained in a statement.

Specifically, Copilot is an assistant that introduces AI directly into the Windows operating system and makes tasks easier for users through a chat and different tools and functions. In fact, according to the company, it will be a “simple and fluid” experience that will be available in Windows 11, starting next week.

Thus, this assistant will be available in a sidebar so that the user can easily access its services. In addition, it will work as an application that appears simply by clicking the right mouse button.

One of them is the ability to remove some pre-installed apps in Windows 11.

In the latest release of the beta version of Windows 11 (version 25931) users have this novelty that makes it possible to easily remove pre-installed content on the system.

According to the technology giant, among the apps that the user can uninstall from their operating system are Photos, Cortana, Contacts, and Remote Desktop. But the list of apps is expected to increase progressively.

Despite the fact that this innovation is in the development phase, the results of the tests by experts will be decisive for the rest of the users. At the moment, it is known that to remove an application from the start menu, you just have to right-click on it and delete it.

“It may not be present in this section and that is why you have to go to the system, for this you only have to press the combination of the Windows key together with the letter “I” and the system menu will appear.”

Subsequently, you must reach the “Applications” section, go to “Installed Applications” and finally identify the one you want to uninstall. It will be enough to “click on the three-dot button next to the application and select Uninstall”.

According to the technology, which in January 2023 eliminated technical support for versions prior to Windows 11, indicated that it also wants to “correct vulnerabilities in its cloud service in more brand software.”

In this sense, it was learned that next August Windows 7 and 8 will no longer have access to Google Drive.

Given the increasing vulnerability in terms of security, the service is not secure in these old versions of the operating system. But the firm goes further, as it has indicated that “32-bit Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 will not have access to its cloud service as of August of this year either.”

Users who want to keep their files on the Internet protected will be forced to “have Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 or migrate them to other cloud services, such as OneDrive, Mega or Terabox.”

The company is working on new options to offer a unified Outlook experience, focused on personal productivity and the organization. One of its latest innovations, for example, is the support for Gmail accounts in Outlook, which is already included in the preview of this service.

Microsoft has now commented that the new Outlook for Windows has “a modern and simplified design for the PC with Windows 11” and that from 2024 new devices with this operating system will ship with this application installed by default.

With it, other services such as Mail and Calendar are replaced, which will not disappear completely, but can be found through the Microsoft Store, which means that they can be downloaded until the end of 2024.

With this, Microsoft has indicated that on existing computers, users can switch to the new Outlook for Windows from the switch at the top of the interface of these other applications.

The company has pointed out that the new version of Outlook allows streamlining accounts, organizing and sharing events more easily and quickly, unifying accounts and enjoying Microsoft 365 for free on the web “with the click of a button”.

Information has been leaked about a total restructuring, to start from scratch, with a more secure system and leaving only what is more efficient to the user.

“According to data from Windows Central, Windows 12 will be a fairly modular version. Its main objective will be to become a system adapted to more devices with different form factors. A new Windows will be rebuilt practically from scratch, adding only what is necessary”, indicates Finanzas Digital.

Specialists from Silicon Valley have indicated that “it is hoped that Windows 12 can be optimized for specific chips.” The requirements to go from Windows 11 to Windows 12 are those that users already know: a 64-bit processor (ARM / x86) at a minimum of 1GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of minimum storage, UEFI with secure boot support, TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module). Also, have a screen of at least 9 inches 1,366 x 768 px, GPU compatible with DirectX 12.”

Unless a different decision is made, the new version of Windows will continue to be free. So all users with a current license for Windows 11 will be able to perform the update.

The technology company presented the new versions of its Bing search engine and its Edge browser at the beginning of February, when it indicated that from then on they would be based on the ChatGPT chatbot, developed by OpenAI.

The company now commented that the new Bing already has a shortcut in the Windows 11 interface, by being integrated into its taskbar, with a search box in which you can type to get all the results.

This feature is available to Bing preview users, who will need to install the latest search engine update to access it.

Along with this new functionality, Microsoft presented a series of features focused on connectivity with Phone Link, which is already available for iOS and has updated its version for Android in order to strengthen the link between terminals and Windows PCs.
