According to this figure, between Venezuela and Colombia there was a marked growth in export activity, which “translates into 94.1 million dollars for the country, while during this same period in 2022, the figure was 56.4 million dollars.”

In the document, Cavecol highlights that “of the total registered, 17.6 million dollars were exported by land through Paraguachón and 17.2 million through Táchira. This indicates that 37 % of the operations were carried out by land.”

Five products stand out in exports between both territories: fertilizers (36.3 million dollars), organic chemical products (6.8 million dollars), fuels and oils (6.7 million dollars), aluminum and its manufactures (3 .4 million dollars) and iron and steel foundry (3.3 million dollars).

Cavecol has also dedicated a section in its report to imports, where it highlights that “the total imports from Venezuela during January-August 2023 were USD 94 million CIF (US$ 84 million FOB), increasing by 67 %. compared to imports from the same period of the previous year, when they registered USD 56 million CIF (USD 49 million FOB).”

During this period, the main products imported from Venezuela were: fertilizers (42 %), organic chemical products (8 %) and fuels (8 %).
