This Friday, the date for the canonization of Blessed Venezuelans Dr. José Gregorio Hernández and Mother Carmen Rendiles was announced. Pope Leo XIV set the date for October 19.

The date was set by the pontiff this Friday, June 13, during the first consistory to select certain dates for canonization.

The ceremony will be held in St. Peter’s Basilica, presided over by Pope Leo XIV. In preparation for this important event for the Venezuelan faithful and those of other nations, the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Caracas will hold various activities in Venezuela, Latin America, and Rome to promote the lives and work of the upcoming Venezuelan saints.
