The German company Biontech plans to develop together with the federal state of Bavaria software to improve the management of vaccine distribution.

Previously, the German magazine “Der Spiegel” reported on this and indicated that the computer system could also handle other vaccines in addition to those manufactured by Biontech in collaboration with its US partner Pfizer.

The information technology department of Biontech as well as an associated company are currently working on the project, according to the spokesperson.

According to Biontech, talks are being held with the German Ministry of Health for a possible collaboration on the project.

The purpose of the software is to improve the reliability of vaccination center planning and to help them react flexibly to any change in delivery quantities.
