Apple could integrate two types of USB-C ports in the new iPhone models in order to comply with the regulations that will require the use of a charger in the European Union from autumn 2024, according to analyst Ming Chi-Kuo.

At the end of October, the Twenty-seven approved the new directive that requires all manufacturers to implement the single charger in the vast majority of portable electronic devices (phones, tablets, headphones).

The obligation to incorporate a USB type C port affects smartphones that are marketed in the member countries of the European Union, regardless of the manufacturer, so that Apple will have to do without the Lightning port, at least in this market.

Days after the announcement that this regulation would come into force in the fall of 2024, the iPhone manufacturer confirmed that it would comply with this new European legislation, despite not being in compliance with this regulation.

Recently, analyst Ming Chi-Kuo said that two of the next high-end iPhone models, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, will require a type of charging port suitable for high-speed transmission power and not they will be able to use the USB-C standard.
