The Venezuelan government began implementing the new Unified Protocol for Non-Oil Exports this March, aimed at simplifying the legal framework for the international sale of local products.

The new protocol, based on the digitization of procedures through the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), was announced on February 22nd in Táchira state to consolidate the “business sector as the strategic engine of non-oil economic growth.”

At that time, the Minister of Foreign Trade, Coromoto Godoy, announced that the new legal instrument, which “seeks to optimize and standardize the export of Venezuelan products to international markets,” would be activated this month.

According to the minister, “the document functions as a map of opportunities that will allow the identification of global destinations for products from Táchira, optimizing commercial decision-making thanks to the high competitiveness of its local offerings.”

At the meeting, which was attended by the state official and approximately 70 businesspeople, the VUCE system was presented. Developed under UNCTAD standards, it aims to digitize and centralize the country’s trade processes, facilitating international operations.
