The streaming platform launched its application for Nintendo Switch consoles in November 2021, with the aim of offering users a “more flexible” viewing experience for content on the platform.

In this way, users who use this ‘app’ can register in their accounts and view, follow or interact with any channel directly on the console. Likewise, it also allows you to search to discover new streamers.

However, Twitch has announced that it will stop supporting its app on the Nintendo Switch console starting Monday, November 6 for new users, who will no longer be able to download the app on the Nintendo eShop.

This was detailed by the company in a notification on its help page, in which it also specified that, as for users who already had the ‘app’ downloaded to their console, “they will lose access to the application” January 31 of next year 2024.

In this sense, according to statements by Twitch’s corporate communications director, Gabriella Raila, to The Verge, the company has made the decision to remove the application on Nintendo Switch “recently.” In addition, she also stressed that Nintendo “remains a valued partner” and that they appreciate “all the support that the Switch community has given to Twitch and streamers.”

During the years that the application has been in use, users have posted some complaints about the app’s service through a Twitch forum, detailing that they cannot see the chat in a broadcast, or which does not allow subscription to creators from the console. Likewise, users cannot use the app to stream their own gameplay either.

TikTok announced the beta of its own paid monthly subscriptions to direct content creators, which give access to exclusive benefits such as entry to a private chat, personalized emojis and badges, similar to those offered by Twitch.

The platform will open the beta phase of its TikTok Live Subscription initiative with invited content creators on May 26, as indicated on its Instagram profile.

The company thus seeks to offer creators new ways to interact with their communities and be rewarded for them, as explained in its statement.

These subscriptions will have a monthly periodicity and will offer users several advantages. One of these are subscriber badges, which will appear next to your profile name and will update over time.

Subscribers will also have access to personalized emojis by the content creators of each channel that they can use during live broadcasts on the platform. In addition, TikTok will also allow you to enter a subscriber-only chat to strengthen the connection between followers and creators.

This was reported by the company through a statement in which it indicated that it had updated the rules of use in its section referring to the Policies of ‘spam’, scams and malicious conduct.

The information refers to the rule related to the limitation of false news that its content can “cause significant damage if allowed on the service.” In addition, the platform reported that it made alliances with “more than a dozen researchers and experts to understand and appreciate how misinformation spreads, as well as the user profiles responsible for it.”

The result of this alliance has made it possible to determine the characteristics and profiles of users who share this type of information on the network, identifying three main criteria.

The first is related to the frequency of sharing information, verifying that they persistently share erroneous information. The second criterion is linked to topics, noting that they do so on “widely refuted disinformation” topics, while the third criterion is linked to the distribution of “harmful information, such as conspiracies that promote violence.”

Twitch: Focused on user health

The company, in its statement, stated that it will use these criteria to especially analyze misinformation about health and conspiracies related “to dangerous treatments or Covid-19, as well as disinformation promoted by conspiracy networks linked to violence, among other recurrent topics.”

“We have selected these criteria because, taken together, they create the greatest risk of harm, including inciting harm in the real world,” and said it would only block users who meet those three criteria.

Twitch also indicated that it will continue to take action on misinformation targeting specific communities in accordance with the “Harassment and Hateful Conduct Policy” and will continue to adjust security conditions according to misinformation trends and misbehavior.

On the other hand, the platform urges the members of its community to report users who engage in the activity of placing in danger to the rest of the community members through an email indicating the name of the account and any evidence that supports the complaint.

Every year the e-commerce giant holds its Amazon Ads conference in order to investigate and analyze new solutions and technologies that will help different brands grow by creating connections with their users.

As consumer habits and tastes vary, it is necessary to create new public tools that adapt to these changes in an increasingly virtualized and competitive world where it is a priority to bring authentic relationships with customers.

This 2021 edition brought as a novelty three advertising formats that try to satisfy the expectations of users, additionally it also offered “omnichannel purchases” which involve interaction with content and brands in different spaces.

Sponsored Display in Twitch live streams

Streaming gains relevance every day and millions of people use it. Amazon stands out for having more than 30 million daily users who directly access its content and it was thanks to that strength that this new advertising format emerged to connect with the Twitch audience. “Sponsored display ads, which appear on the screen of users as banners, of different formats, can be found in the Twitch navigation tab as well as during broadcasts”, they can also be integrated with broadcasts directly, becoming a very attractive option for brands in countries such as “Spain, Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.”

Brand metrics

This tool offers a solution to quantify the opportunities of brands in each customer experience on Amazon. The metrics are designed as scales that measure the different purchasing interactions of the brand with the company and not just the interactions attributed to ads. Brands can also access “awareness and consideration” metrics, which will allow them to compare themselves with their peers, through predictive consideration and sales models, establishing statistics, long-term projections and knowing what drives the growth of their business.

Every week the reports are updated with information on the number of buyers according to visits to the “product detail page or brand searches, and the value of purchase interactions based on sales generated during a period of 12 months”.

Amazon Marketing Cloud update

This tool will offer companies a “safe and private environment”, allowing you to analyze and compare different data, not only from advertisers, but also from events, conversions, impressions made by Amazon Ads. All that information is inputs that facilitate the “measuring of their campaigns, adjusting their audiences, optimizing supplies and other actions with which advertisers will be able to make decisions about their marketing investments between the different available channels.”
