China has crystallized a project by researchers from Tsinghua University in Beijing with the inauguration of the world’s first hospital with artificial intelligence.

Doctors using this new technology can now treat up to 10,000 patients in less time than the traditional way.

The advances of AI in “personalized medicine, predictive analysis, drug discovery and development, intelligent virtual healthcare assistants, and the improvement of medical imaging and diagnosis” are notable.

The world’s first smart hospital is now in China, with virtual patient care, thanks to the work of the team at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

“The team claims that this way they will be able to evolve independently and improve their ability to treat diseases.” According to the developers of this initiative, “the model will help bring the diagnostic capabilities of AI doctors from the virtual realm to the real world, with the consequent potential to offer high-quality, affordable and convenient health services to the public.”

They also introduce virtual patient simulation for the training of doctors. By having virtual patients, “medical students can confidently design treatment plans without the risk of harming real patients due to decision-making errors.”

In the virtual environment, all hospital staff are directed by intelligent agents equipped with a large language model (LLM) and capable of interacting autonomously.
