Hernández pointed out that this figure, compared to other countries, is modest. However, he stated that “it is consistent and growing, especially since it does not involve oil.”

Venezuelan exports to Vietnam are steady and continue to grow, which underscores the importance of the Asian country as a trade partner.

In this regard, Quang Doung, the trade secretary of the Asian country in Venezuela, confirmed that his country is one of the most important partners in Latin America, and “that the trade relationship is increasing significantly compared to previous years.”

Compared to 2024, the trade value between the two nations is approaching $ 55 million. “During the first six months of 2025, the increase between Vietnam and Venezuela was almost 70 %. It’s a huge and very impressive leap.”

Doung emphasized that the products his country receives from Venezuela include textiles, footwear, electrical appliances, and seafood. Both governments are seeking to strengthen trade cooperation with agreements such as the one signed last week between a Vietnamese investment company and a Venezuelan company through the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, “which will provide the financial support for the agreement, which will begin in early 2026.”

“China is our main trading partner, and we have worked to change the relationship,” the prime minister responded during a press conference in Townsville, in the state of Queensland, when asked about the negotiations on the ban on Australian coal and the impact of this fact in the Australian economy.

“We believe that both countries have an interest in continuing to develop more positive relations,” added Albanese.

These statements take place after Australia closed several agreements to import coal to China, after the relaxation of the informal ban on shipments from the oceanic country, measures imposed in 2020 after the distancing of both nations due to issues such as the origin of the pandemic of the coronavirus, according to Bloomberg.

However, other measures continue to interrupt trade between the two countries in other types of products, such as wine or wood.

“Australia is interested in being able to export to China without impediments. But China is also interested in receiving those exports from Australia,” Albanese acknowledged to the press.

As the prime minister pointed out, since the election of the Labor government in May, relations have stabilized and both leaders have met for the first time in years: “I had a positive meeting with President Xi at the end of last year. And Senator Wong’s visit as Foreign Minister to mark the 50th anniversary of Australia-PRC relations on December 21 was a positive development,” Albanese said.

In a statement to the media, Benjamín Tripier, president of the Venezuelan-Argentine Chamber (Cavenarg) pointed out that this exchange could reach US$300 million.

According to what Tripier told the Venezuelan radio station Unión Radio, previously bilateral trade relations were maintained between the government and Argentine companies. However, in this recovery process, the relationship is established between the private companies of both Latin American countries.

The president of Cavenarg explained that until 1995 “bilateral trade had been approximately US$ 250 million.” Later, it went to US $ 450 million; during the years in power of Hugo Chávez it reached US$ 2 billion, to fall to zero.

However, during the last two years, the commercial exchange between Argentina and Venezuela began to be revitalized. This has given hope that in the medium term they will achieve “for the first time in a long time US$700 million.”

“The Biden-Harris Administration and the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) are conducting a comprehensive review of trade policy between the United States and China,” Tai said during a virtual meeting with the Advisory Board of the US Chamber of Central China and with the US-China Business Council to discuss trade issues between the two powers.

The representative of the United States Government recognized the importance for the United States of the commercial relationship with China, and emphasized the importance of a comprehensive strategic assessment to design a resilient trade policy.

Also, Tai reiterated his Office’s commitment to tackle China’s unfair trade policies and off-market practices in the Asian giant that harm American companies and workers.

Trade tensions between the world’s two largest economies intensified during the presidency of Donald Trump with the imposition of reciprocal tariffs on exports worth billions of dollars.

Last June, the Ministry of Commerce of China affirmed that the governments of China and the United States had resumed “normally” their economic and commercial contacts with the confidence of pragmatically resolving the differences between the two powers with the aim of achieve mutual benefit and for the world as a whole.
