On Monday, the tycoon Elon Musk announced that he has been authorized to test Neuralink’s brain chip on robotic arms.

The idea is to allow paraplegic patients, with robotic arms, to exercise control through thought. Musk was pleased by the start of the “feasibility trial to extend control of their brain-computer interface (BCI) through the N1 Implant to a research-stage robotic arm.”

As is known, in January of this year, Neuralink’s first brain chip was successfully implanted. In July, the company announced that it was ready for the second brain implant. In that case, the patient was able to “control various electronic devices with his mind to play video games and even design 3D objects.”

And a week ago, he received approval to begin the first trial of his brain implants in Canada. “The trial was opened to people with tetraplegia caused by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or cervical spinal cord injury.”
