According to the executive, they will invest more in this area going forward, taking into account user interaction. The goal is to facilitate navigation between multiple feeds.

It’s important to remember that Threads has allowed sending and receiving direct messages since July 2025, “but the feature is restricted to the mobile app. However, the company is working to extend this feature to the web.”

Hayes shared a screenshot on his account showing the “changes that will be incorporated into the interface. Among them, the sidebar stands out, where direct messages are located.” He shows that the sidebar includes, in order, the ‘For You’ feed, New thread, Search, Messages, Activity, Profile, Stats, and Saved.

Meta has not provided details on the release date for this update, “which will allow users to also access stats and saved messages, in addition to direct messages.”

TikTok announced the beta of its own paid monthly subscriptions to direct content creators, which give access to exclusive benefits such as entry to a private chat, personalized emojis and badges, similar to those offered by Twitch.

The platform will open the beta phase of its TikTok Live Subscription initiative with invited content creators on May 26, as indicated on its Instagram profile.

The company thus seeks to offer creators new ways to interact with their communities and be rewarded for them, as explained in its statement.

These subscriptions will have a monthly periodicity and will offer users several advantages. One of these are subscriber badges, which will appear next to your profile name and will update over time.

Subscribers will also have access to personalized emojis by the content creators of each channel that they can use during live broadcasts on the platform. In addition, TikTok will also allow you to enter a subscriber-only chat to strengthen the connection between followers and creators.

Spotify is testing a new feature that will allow artists to introduce galleries of non-fungible tokens, or NFT, with a select group of users in the United States.

Artists like Steve Aoki and groups like The Wombats are some of those who have access to this feature, which is currently in the testing phase and is running on the Spotify app for Android.

The platform is conducting “a trial to help a small group of artists to promote their existing third-party NFT offerings through their artist profiles”, a Spotiy spokesperson told Music Ally.

This indicates that Spotify is not offering the ability to put the tokens up for sale on the platform, but instead is testing a format to allow artists who sell these digital goods to promote them on the platform.

Users who have access to this trial will be able to see the non-fungible token galleries in the app interface, below the artists’ song and album charts. Once the desired NFT has been selected, users will be able to access an enlarged version of it in image format, as well as a brief description.

The beta Google Play Games for PC was announced at the end of January for the first three countries, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, after learning that Google was working on this native application during the Game Awards 2021.

The beta was recently activated in the three countries mentioned, as reported by Esper’s technical editor, Mishaal Rahman, which has allowed us to see the interface of this new application for Windows. According to images shared on social media, this client has a dark background and three main tabs: Home, Library, and All Games, where games can be found and downloaded to play in the browser.

There is also an account settings section, which can be accessed from the user’s profile image, located in the upper right corner. Options are also displayed to edit the profile or check the achievements obtained.

As it is an application under test, at a given moment a floating window is also opened in which the user’s opinion is requested. Google announced in January that its plans were for this application to launch globally this year, after testing in the first three Asian countries.

The social network will begin this process globally in the coming months, giving priority to accounts that the company considers risky. That is, those “most likely to be attacked by malicious hackers.” By mid-February 2022, the company plans for North American users with this type of profile to start with two-factor authentication.

This program was first experienced in 2018 with US politicians, before the 2020 elections. Slowly, but progressively, the social network has been expanding the program to other users considered at risk and it is eventually expected that it may be available on more than 50 countries, including India.

Easy authentication

Facebook encourages the use of “third-party authentication applications” and highlighted that it is doing some work that will allow “the registration and use of 2FA to be as simple as possible for these groups of people by providing a better user experience and support.”

The company admits that everyone’s adaptation to the program will take some time, especially for those users who do not regularly log into their accounts. However, when reviewing the statistics of people registered in the first tests, the figures are quite acceptable.

Meta’s security policy chief, Nathaniel Gleicher, pointed out that more than 1.5 million accounts at risk are registered in the Protect program and 950,000 of them activated 2FA. He additionally reported that approximately 4 % of monthly users have it enabled for their accounts.

Facebook indicated that it does not plan to require non-Protect users to add 2FA to their accounts and recommended doing so through a security key.

Specifically, it will alert when a person is detected spying on or looking over the user’s shoulder at the computer screen.
This sensor would be able to detect if a person has been placed in front of the computer screen, and would have the potential to lock or unlock the equipment through facial recognition.

Reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong shared the news the company is currently working on. The first is a function whose purpose is to allow users to “delegate an account”, with the option that will appear in the account information, next to the icon of a star.

While the second innovation has to do with a new screen for safe mode, which is being created to “automatically block abusive content on the platform“, preventing the user from having access to it, this includes “harmful language, hateful, repetitive or unwanted comments.”

The new screen, in addition to presenting this mode, will allow user to limit the information and “interactions that are not welcome”. It also has the option of showing the accounts that the company identified for presenting “abusive behaviors or spam”. From that same screen users will be able to activate the safe mode.

As you may recall, the social network launched the “safe mode” function in September and currently the company is still testing this functionality in a small group of users in its “version for iOS, Android and on its website”, starting with the accounts that have English language settings enabled.

At the same time, he highlighted the flexibility in the requirements to take the entrance tests, so that passengers who are fully vaccinated will not need a PDT to travel to England.

Shapps noted that by the end of October “fully vaccinated eligible passengers and those with an approved vaccine from a select group of non-red countries will be able to replace their day 2 test with a cheaper lateral flow test, reducing the cost of the evidence upon arrival in England.”

If the test is positive, it is mandatory to isolate and carry out the confirmatory PCR, which will not have any additional cost for the passenger “which will be genomically sequenced to help identify new variants.”

On the other hand, it was established that people who are not vaccinated and come from non-red countries will have to present “pre-departure tests, day 2 and day 8 PCR tests. The launch test is still an option to reduce the period of self-isolation.”

As of October 4, England will grant a differentiated treatment to travelers from the United Kingdom who return fully vaccinated and come from 17 countries including Japan and Singapore, due to the success of the pilot carried out in the United States and Europe.

Countries such as Spain, France, Italy and Portugal which are on the amber list will be reclassified and will be considered as low risk countries. While Turkey, Egypt, Maldives and Kenya stand out among the “eight countries that will come out of that list as of September 22”.

The streaming platform Netflix began to test the introduction of video games within its application, with two video games for Android mobile devices set in its television series Stranger Things that its users can already try in Poland.

Last July, Netflix finalized its expansion plans to gaming and confirmed that its initial offer will be based on games for phones that will complement the subscription that the user has and that already allows them to access movies and series at no additional cost.

Now, the tests of Netflix’s internal video games arrive for the first time, although at the moment only to subscribers of the service in Poland.

Starting this week, Polish users will be able to play two video games from the television series for Android from within the mobile service app: Stranger Things 1984 and Stranger Things 3.

“We are in an initial stage and we still have a lot of work to do in the coming months, but this is our first step,” said the company, which has also recalled that its video games do not have advertisements or internal purchases.
