The platform said it will submit to the Justice the information from users who violate the use rules.

According to a spokesperson from the company, they will bring to the authority data such as IP address and phone number of users who do not follow the rules.

The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, made the announcement this Monday in his account on the platform, and stressed his compromise with the Justice on security aspects.

Durov indicated the decision really looks to persuade potential transgressors. He added the measure’s target are “people who do not respect our rules to sell illegal products.”

They made the announcement after a group of moderators used AI to optimize the platform efficiency. They have already identified the “problematic contents” which are no more available in the searcher.

The E2EE is an encryption system that protects the content of a communication, so that only the sender and the users who receive a message can know its content, thus preventing third parties or the application itself from accessing it.

This is a measure already used by services such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook and Telegram with which private communications are maintained, which offers a great advantage for preserving users’ confidential data.

Despite this, political communities such as the European Union and countries like the United Kingdom have been criticizing this system for years, since they believe that users can take advantage of it to perpetrate crimes such as terrorism or pedophilia.

In fact, the United Kingdom is currently debating a project such as the Online Safety Bill, with which it seeks to regulate certain Internet services to avoid risks related to this type of crime, because the E2EE prevents it from being access the criminal exchanges they carry out in the apps, which makes it difficult for police investigations.

Specifically, it is suggested that the communication regulatory body in the United Kingdom (OFCOM) can mediate in this E2EE system of apps to prosecute criminals who use them.

As is known, the telephone number works as a means of identification for the Telegram user. The new update seeks to “anonymize” the experience. However, it is necessary to point out that this novelty is paid and is available in version 9.2 of Telegram.

According to the publication on the Xataka Android portal, the objective is “the decentralization of blockchains: instead of telephone numbers and cards delivered by telecommunications companies, Telegram advances with records through anonymous numbers associated with the blockchain.”

Telegram worked on creating a system of anonymous numbers, “which operate through its Fragment platform and are only functional within its environment.” The user must buy a number on the blockchain, replacing their SIM card from any cell phone operator.

The innovation launched by Telegram is based on the TON network and prices vary depending on the token. For example, about 9 TON can currently represent more than 16 dollars.

The co-founder and CEO of the company, Pável Durov, showed in August his interest in integrating Web3 into the messaging platform to put both the identifiers and the links of groups and channels on the ‘blockchain’ for sale as if they were non fungibles tokens (NFTs).

Web3 is an idea about the next stop of the World Wide WEB (WWW) standard that proposes a decentralized operation based on the ‘blockchain’ and other derived technologies, such as NFTs.

One of the exponents of the decentralization provided by this proposal is The Open Network (TON) project, which coined the messaging platform and launched in 2018 under the name of The Telegram Network.

However, in 2020 it had to be separated from it after a legal dispute that resulted in the union of several independent groups in charge of developing Toncoin, the native token of the TON network. These managed to win the rights to the ton.org domain in 2021, with the support of the CEO of Telegram.

Since then Durov has shown his enthusiasm for TON’s ability to auction domains, wallets or ‘wallets’ and at the time said that the integration of WEeb3 in the platform would take place “in the coming weeks”.

Now, from Telegram they have announced through their channel that the development of a platform that supports it and that will allow the acquisition of account identifiers with cryptocurrencies is being closed.

In this publication, mention is made of the manager’s post, in which it is recalled that, in addition to popular nomenclatures such as @storm or @royal, “all four-letter usernames could be available for sale.” Some of the ones he mentions are @bank, @club, @game and @gift.

This week, the team in charge of the development and maintenance of the @Wallet bot announced that it is improving the features of this program, as reported by several media outlets.

@Wallet was developed by the TON Foundation, which promotes the development and adoption of the Toncoin (TON) blockchain. The functionality was initially introduced in March of this year, allowing purchases of TON and Bitcoin from Telegram, as well as shipments of said cryptocurrencies between users.

This new development seeks to facilitate transactions for the 700 million users that the messaging platform manages today. Wallet will now have a cryptocurrency trading service between people, better known as “peer-to-peer”

Initially, the service is available for bitcoin and TON exchanges, but the team has outlined plans to expand this offering to more cryptocurrencies in the future.

To sell the tokens, users will be able to post notices on the app. Buyers can select the offers according to their preference and use up to six different fiat currencies, including the US dollar, the euro and the Ukrainian hryvnia, to purchase the cryptocurrencies.

The company announced at the end of 2020 that it would begin to monetize its service a year later, after the increase of active users of the platform. Thanks to this change, you can face the maintenance challenges posed by the traffic that users generate.

Now, when it is among the five most downloaded applications worldwide so far this year and with more than 700 million active users per month, the characteristics of its new payment option were announced.

Telegram Premium integrates a series of additional functions that the expert developer in reverse engineering Alessandro Paluzzi has already advanced a few days ago, who shared a screenshot with the new exclusive functions.

On the occasion of the increase in its number of users, the company indicated that it will retain its free access service and offer a new format with additional functions requested by its community since its inception. This will be paid and will “support the continuous development of Telegram”, according to their official blog.

First, the Premium Telegram subscription entails the ability to upload files up to 4 GB, compared to the 2 GB that allows the option without costs. Thanks to this service, users will be able to send videos of up to 4 hours in 1080p or “18 days of audio in high quality”.

Although the option to send large files is only possible for customers of the payment service; however, users of the free option can also download these files, even if they are not Telegram Premium customers.

The lnp2pBot software, developed by the Venezuelan programmer Francisco Calderón, makes it easy to acquire bitcoins or exchange them for fiat money and has allowed the platform to obtain a new commercial record.

The developer announced through the social network Twitter “302,127,905 sats have been exchanged through lnp2pBot, a project inspired by the Bitcoin Lightning Network. (…) More than 3 BTC have changed hands without custody and without KYC from the comfort of Telegram”.

In 20 days, the platform achieved the 3BTC mark. that is, “it took a little over three weeks for 100 million satellites to move in lnp2pBot and add to the 2 BTC that was registered at the beginning of May”, while the first BTC was achieved in the month of March 214 days after the launch of the lnp2pBot.

The bot mobilizes millions of satellites

Francisco Calderón indicated that since the telegram bot was launched “the number of users and orders completed by the system has been increasing”. However, he acknowledges that the bot is currently at “a peak” or high adoption by of the users.

According to Calderón, the number of people, as well as the large numbers, “play a determining role”, because he demonstrates the “bot’s ability to move millions of satellites”.

It is also important to take into consideration that the Bitcoin Lightning network has increased by 200 % in the last year, facilitating “fast, automatic, cheap exchanges without major limitations.”

The suspension was lifted when Telegram removed a message sent by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on his channel within the app, which contained links to an investigation by the Brazilian Federal Police into an alleged hacker attack on systems. of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), as reported by O Globo.

A notification now appears in place of the post explaining that it cannot be viewed because it “violates local laws.” For its part, the social network appointed a legal representative in Brazil to guarantee the ability to respond to urgent requests from the Court after assuring that “an internal problem” led them not to respond to judicial requests, for which the platform has apologized.

In addition, the creator of the application, Pavel Durov, explained to the highest judicial body in Brazil that he implemented “several measures” to “minimize the publication of false messages” as well as a tool to “restrict the ability of users involved in the dissemination of misinformation to create new profiles or post on existing channels.”

The closure of the messaging application ignited the debate in Brazil for assuming an “attack on the freedom” of Brazilians, according to the president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, who was “sad” by the Supreme Court’s decision to suspend Telegram in the country.

This was reported by the WaBetaInfo portal through its Twitter account.

The media also pointed out that the emojis that will be part of the reactions of the instant messaging application are: “the thumbs up, the red heart, the smiling face, the surprised face, the sad face and the joined hands”.

The reaction with emojis was recently implemented by Telegram in its version 8.4, highlighting its innovation and creativity. However, the leadership of instant messaging is held by WhatsApp, although the platform, owned by Meta, has had no problem replicating those functions previously released by the blue platform.

In the published images you can see that the emojis are in the lower right part of the chat, it is also assumed that the operation will be similar to that of Instagram, which appears when pressing the received message. Nevertheless, there is still no date for when this update could come into operation in WhatsApp.

TikTok is the social network that shares data from its users with more third-party platforms, up to 13 different ones in total, above the industry average and other applications such as Telegram, Twitter and YouTube.

This follows from an investigation carried out by URL Genius in which a total of 200 applications for mobile devices have been analyzed to detect what data they share with third parties or with apps from the developer itself. For this they have used the function of Record the activity of the application added in iOS 15.2 by Apple.

Mobile applications contact an average of 15 domains, and about 80 % are third-party domains. Among the categories that share the most usage data are magazine and news applications, with 28 and 23 contacts respectively, of which 26 and 21 were with third parties.

The research has also focused on social applications such as social networks or messaging apps. For this, ten platforms were analyzed, in which the average number of contacts was six: 60 % from third parties, and 40% from internal domains.

TikTok appears as the social network that uses the most third-party contacts for its data, with 13, to which an internal domain of its developer must also be added. This places it ahead of Telegram (9), Twitter (6) and YouTube (4) in this section.
