The National Experimental University of Telecommunications and Information Technology of Venezuela (UNETI) announced the start of the Master’s Degree in Blockchain for the institution’s teachers in order to train them as multipliers of knowledge about this technology in the national territory.

Carlos Berbecí, rector of the University, stressed that “this is a new stage for Venezuelan education and the contribution of our university will be to continue bringing education to the forefront.”

It is the first master’s degree related to block technology to be offered in the Caribbean country. In its first phase it will be taught to teachers at the university itself and later a call will be made to all professionals who wish to train in this type technology and knowledge area.

Among the compulsory curricular units that make up the program, the following stand out: Blockchain Fundamentals; creation, research and innovation in blockchain, arithmetic logic system, computer logic system, blockchain architecture, disruptive technologies, security system and blockchain programming.

Other obligatory subjects are: technological governance system, trading, crypto financial system, blockchain-based business model; ontoespistemology of disruptive technologies, praxeology and intellectual creation, scientific data analysis and big data.

While blockchain legality, blockchain and digital mining will be part of the optional subjects that students of the master’s degree will be able to select.

UNETI also developed the Blockchain Research Center of Venezuela, which is fully functioning and is dedicated “to lines of research and development, as well as the execution of projects with blockchain technology that provides specialized technical advisory services applied to R&I research, development and innovation projects, operational plans for both the public and private sectors, also nationally and internationally, on the application and use of blockchain technology and related activities.”
