A strategic alliance between the government of the state of Sucre, in the eastern part of Venezuela, and the International Center for Productive Investment (CIIP) will allow international investment for the exploitation of the Araya salt mines, in the Cruz Salmerón Acosta municipality.

The agreement “includes an investment of more than $30 million, which represents a crucial step in strengthening Venezuela’s productive economy,” according to the CIIP team on its official Instagram account.

The initiative not only strengthens foreign investors’ confidence in Venezuela’s potential, but also seeks to “promote high-impact projects that energize strategic sectors.”

The international investment will be aimed at laying the foundation for “sustainable and diversified economic growth that benefits local communities and the country as a whole.”

The governor of the entity, Gilberto Pinto, was in charge of receiving said assignment, along with members of his regional team, community representatives, and authorities of the state oil company, among them the vice president of Commerce and National Supply, Juan Carlos Díaz; the director of the Internal Market of the MinPetróleo, Ray Delmoral and the general manager of the National Transportation Company (ENT), Maridelf Díaz.

The officials made it clear that on behalf of Minister Pedro Rafael Tellechea and following the guidelines of President Nicolás Maduro, they confirmed that the state of Sucre received these transport units, which are extremely useful for the transportation of fuel.

Strengthening fuel distribution plans

“Minister Tellechea, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, has entrusted us with ensuring that the states receive the distribution of these first 100 tankers and that they also arrive loaded with fuel since our processes are continuous, because the objective is to increasingly reinforce logistics in the office for the tranquility of all sectors, reported Juan Carlos Díaz.

The endowment comes to “strengthen the agro-industrial sector, public transportation and all economic sectors of the state, as well as more than 90 thousand vehicles that circulate in Sucre, more than 10 thousand fishermen and the entire fishing and industrial fleet,” Pinto reported.

President Nicolás Maduro announced on Tuesday the suspension of classes at all levels both Wednesday and Thursday, due to the passage of the tropical cyclone that will hit Venezuela soon.

Initially, the national president had announced the measure for 10 states, however, he later reconsidered and extended the measure to the 23 institutions of the country.

Maduro stressed that this will be the first time that Venezuela has experienced a weather phenomenon of this type.

“A phenomenon like this was not known about Venezuela. A cyclone that came to hit the coasts directly from Venezuela, our generation does not know. All the studies, all the projections, say that this is a new phenomenon as a result of the warming of the seas, of global warming, of climate change”, he stated on a national network.

According to estimates, the cyclone is expected to “hit hard” Sucre state, the Paraguaná Peninsula and part of Zulia state.
