In a statement, Meta indicated it will use Nvidia’s confidential AI computing to strengthen user data security on the WhatsApp messaging platform.

With the adoption of this technology, Meta will privately process artificial intelligence (AI) within the application. Specifically, it will “use Nvidia’s technology to deploy new hyperscale data centers, which will strengthen its AI infrastructure for training and inference.”

The installation of millions of Blackwell and Rubin GPUs is also planned, as well as the large-scale deployment of Grace CPUs to improve performance per watt, and the large-scale deployment of Vera CPUs in 2027.

Meta’s plans include integrating Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet switches into the Facebook Open Switching System platform. As they explain, this is a suite of programs for managing a network of switches in their data centers to deliver “predictable, low-latency performance while maximizing utilization and improving operational and energy efficiency.”

Despite current tensions following US actions in Venezuela, Russia’s representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, indicated on Thursday, February 5, that they will continue to strengthen relations with the South American country.

According to Nebenzia, “Moscow will continue to support Venezuela and reinforce its strategic partnership with the South American country”. The announcement comes in a context of international tensions, marked by new US sanctions and the UN’s call to “respect the sovereignty of nations.”

Nebenzia assured that Russia’s support for Venezuela will continue in all areas of cooperation. For his part, the Venezuelan ambassador to Moscow, Jesús Rafael Salazar Velásquez, “confirmed that the strategic partnership treaty signed in May 2025 between the two countries remains in effect and is being implemented through joint projects in energy, defense, and technological development.”

Regarding the agreements between the two countries, Salazar stated: “We will continue to implement what has been established in the treaty in all areas.”

“Neither mountains nor seas can distance people with common aspirations. The vast Pacific Ocean cannot hinder the deep friendship between the Chinese and Colombian peoples,” emphasized Petro, who appealed during the official dinner to the “diverse and numerous challenges” shared by both nations.

In the field of economic cooperation, the Colombian president has taken advantage of his trip to defend Chinese participation in the construction of the Bogotá metro, marred in recent weeks by suspicions of possible corruption that have called into question the role of the mayor, Claudia López.

For Petro, “it would be foolish” if the Colombian capital were left without its underground transportation network if there is foreign interest in “financing one hundred percent of that project.” In this sense, after meeting with several companies, he highlighted that this external financing could allow Bogotá to allocate resources to social projects.
