The social network owned by Meta already has different options to use stickers generated by the application in stories, as well as other customization functions such as ‘GIFs’ or personalized avatar stickers.

In this sense, Instagram specified that users will be able to insert the stickers in their Stories or in the reels, as announced by the platform’s CEO, Adam Mosseri, on his channel on the social network.

To create the sticker in the stories, as shown in an example video shared by Mosseri, users must open the options menu and click on the new create function, which appears accompanied by an icon with scissors.

Then, you just have to choose the image with which you want to create the sticker from the reel and, automatically afterward, the app will begin to create the sticker focusing on a prominent element of the photo.

Once the process is finished, all you have to do is place the sticker in the story, which will be displayed as an element that can be placed on top of other content.

To create an avatar in three dimensions (3D), you must choose a skin tone, hairstyle, clothing and other details, an option included in the ‘stickers’ section and that Meta introduced a few months ago on the messaging platform.

Regarding status updates, these are located in the third tab of the main interface, they can be answered with text, with 8 emojis – face with hearts, crying with laughter, surprised, sad, hands together, applause, party and 100 -, with emoticons, with stickers or with GIFs, to which the option to reply with avatars has recently been added.

This has been verified by WABetaInfo in the latest beta of WhatsApp for Android 2.23.18.9, a feature that is under development and that will also allow you to respond to these status updates with six other personalized avatars.

To choose between one format and another, the messaging platform will introduce a tab at the top of the states to choose between emojis and avatars, and within the latter, the avatar crying with laughter, sorrow and with thumbs up.

According to this portal, this functionality will be available in a future application update, although it is unknown if it will also reach the iOS version of the application.

According to the information released by WABeta Info, the platform has been developing these avatars in three dimensions and the intention is that users can use them “instead of the video image captured by the camera of the device that the user is using when pressing a button called – for the moment – “Switch to Avatar”.

The WhatsApp platform is constantly evolving and innovating to meet the needs of its users. First they launched emojis; the new avatars are called Memoji/Birmoji and are included in the 2.22.25.5 update for Android.

This is how it eliminates the function of sliding up or “Swipe Up”. This change is mainly due to the fact that users are more familiar with stickers.

With the measure, users will be able to respond to the links previously added, when opening the web page, since it was not possible to respond because the option to react was disabled. Additionally, the function will have different styles so that users can choose their favorites and will be able to vary the size or arrangement of the stories, as well as the surveys and questions.

The social network Instagram has been testing the function of the stickers for several weeks to avoid difficulties and limitations for the time of its launch, which is scheduled for the end of August.

According to what is reported by Instagram, for now the new function can only be used for verified accounts or those that have more than 10,000 followers in their registry. The social network indicated that it is evaluating the feasibility so that all its users can enjoy the new function, but for now they must assess its operation and performance with those who have access.

By the end of August we will begin to touch the stickers to visualize the shared link and we will forget to swipe up.

The platform seeks that creators can also obtain income from the short videos of their accounts, up to a minute long. This also includes Stories, and for that reason in the coming weeks it will allow you to add ads with the appearance of stickers and obtain a part of the benefits.

This function is added coinciding with the growth of the platform because between 2019 and 2020 the number of content creators, who earn the equivalent of $ 10,000 per month, grew by 88 %, as reported by Facebook in a statement.

Likewise, the social network pursues that more and more creators can access monetization, and for this now it requires that the pages have a minimum total of 600,000 minutes viewed, between videos and direct, in the last 60 days, and at least five videos active in the Live section of live broadcasts.

Finally, Facebook has announced that it will invest 7 million dollars in promoting its Stars, a virtual currency with which users can pay small tips to creators during broadcasts. This feature has been visually enhanced and is now available in 15 additional markets.
