The Venezuelan Chamber of Electronic Commerce (Cavecom), through its president, Richard Ujueta, announced a plan for the recovery of the commercial sector affected by the recent earthquakes in La Guaira and Aragua.

In this regard, he indicated that “the Venezuelan business sector is uniting technological efforts to revitalize the economy in the regions affected by the environmental disasters.” In this regard, they are conducting a business census in both states, in addition to providing those affected with the Digital Kit and special subsidies.

Ujueta indicated in an interview with the state television channel VTV that they have begun “partnerships with the main telecommunications providers to lift connectivity restrictions and facilitate online sales tools without initial costs.”

Regarding the Digital Kit Venezuela, Ujueta referred to the Fundacite technology park, located in La Guaira. The initiative “will provide businesses that lost their premises with digital billing, inventory control, and logistics systems. The benefit includes a direct subsidy exceeding 40 %, extending payment facilities that represent savings of between three and four thousand dollars for each affected entrepreneur.”

It is important to highlight that this program is based on four operational pillars: training, technology, empowerment, and specialized mentorship.

Regarding the regional censuses and tax digitization, Ujueta said they would begin this week with the affected businesses on the central coast, where the loss is estimated at “more than 70 % of the retail sector. A similar registration process will be carried out in Aragua in coordination with the Girardot Mayor’s Office.”

The business leader spoke positively about “the new appointments made by the national government in the area of ​​digital economy and reiterated Cavecom’s willingness to advise the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT) on incorporating more than three million informal workers into real-time electronic invoicing systems.”
