According to the announcement made this week by the Ministry of Electric Power, this is a new step within the framework of the Alternative Energies Plan, which is carried out in Venezuelan territory thanks to important national and international agreements.

The Ministry of Electric Power has worked since last year together with the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec) in the evaluation of favorable conditions to create solar energy parks that will provide stability and sustainability to the national electric system.

On its Instagram account, the Ministry of Electric Power published a video where it clarifies: “In a first phase, this plan includes the development of 2,000 solar watts, starting with 500 megawatts that will be built in the states of Zulia, Falcón and Lara, to later implement a second and third phase that will include different states in the center and west of the country”.

It is expected that this installation plan for 2,000 watts of solar energy will strengthen the electrical system in Venezuela, and in this way correct the innumerable failures and interruptions that impair the correct development of daily and industrial activities in the territory.

For the authorities of the country-continent, it is a great step towards a new economy.

Located in the south of Australia, in the city of Whyalla, the Bitcoin mining center was built by the company Lumos Capital Mining. An initial production capacity of up to 100 Bitcoin per year is expected.

The Australian government, in its fight to reduce CO2 emissions, is committed to the use of alternative energy sources. Solar energy is an ally in this case, as it is considered environmentally friendly.

It was learned that initially, the farm will have a consumption capacity of 5 megawatts to allow the estimated annual production of 100 BTC. This has been assured by Angelo Kondylas, direct from the mining center.

For his part, the Minister of State for Trade and Investment of Australia, Nick Champion, has pointed out that solar energy is the answer to the high energy demand of the cryptocurrency industry.

In an act carried out recently, the first stone was laid for the construction of the photovoltaic plant that will provide energy to the bitcoin mining farm, which will be located in the El Gavilán canton, Nueva Concepción, in Chalatenango. The project called Anchor I will be executed by a Swiss consortium that will be directed by Josué López.

The event was attended by Milena Mayorga, ambassador of El Salvador in the United States, who explained, through a Twitter social network account, “the renewable energy park has an initial investment of USD 4 million, although the projection of the first stage will amount to USD 15 million.”

Supporting local entrepreneurship

The Anchor I project is the most important private investment that has been registered in Nueva Concepción, Chalatenango. According to Mayorga, the amount invested in the area amounts to 200 million dollars in bitcoin.

For her part, the deputy of the Central American Parliament, Cecilia Rivera, stressed that the Executive Hydroelectric Commission of the Lempa River (CEL) will maintain agreements with the bitcoin mining consortium with the purpose of “building power generators in minihydros to expand power generation of the area while planning a hydroelectric plant in Nueva Concepción.”

Additionally, the parliamentarian indicated that the administrators of the investment fund El Zonte Capital will also support the venture in the area, who gave 150 thousand dollars to the inhabitants of Nueva Concepción to support the ventures through the Chivo Wallet.

The solution will connect with a data management platform in the cloud and all the information services for the control, operation and optimal maintenance of the batteries in real time.

The project consists of a fully integrated 5 MWh lithium-ion energy storage system, to be supplied by Saft, a subsidiary of TotalEnergies, and two Intensium Max High Energy containers. It will also have an energy conversion system and medium voltage transformers.

The company reported that the plant will benefit from a storage system with an “enhanced and comprehensive security architecture that incorporates a unique combination of security devices to mitigate the risks of fire and explosion, fully tested and certified according to international security standards.”

X-Elio’s enters the energy transition

Storage enables greater penetration of renewable energies and provides advanced services to the grid. This project will become the starting point for X-Elio to significantly expand the company’s capacity in the coming years, as it plans to deploy a “project portfolio exceeding 1 GWh by the end of the year.”

The commercial director of X-ELIO, Mirko Molinari, said that the company is very excited to join the experience in the development of solar energy with its new storage capabilities. “We are improving day by day and providing real solutions at the pace necessary for the energy transition to take place.”

The company is convinced that its business model is scalable, generates value for shareholders and is based on extremely high sustainability criteria. In Molinari’s opinion, energy storage is a fundamental technology to allow the decarbonization of our energy system, with many value flows still untapped.

The statements were made by the former US senator and former Secretary of State, in the Egyptian capital, also highlighting that “the United States was also working with Egypt on its own transition to a clean energy future.”

Kerry held a meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Cairo, where they discussed the priorities and goals of the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, commonly known as COP27, as well as the availability of funds for that “developing countries implement the Paris Agreement on climate change reached in 2015”.

Egypt climate summit

The US representative, together with the Egyptian Foreign Minister, implemented a working group with the purpose of organizing the activities of the COP27 conference, scheduled in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh for next November.

Kerry said that the war situation between Russia and Ukraine does not affect the development of the COP27 conference because these events “will not change the reality of what is happening every day regarding our climate.”

The climate situation has become “an international threat to all of us”, Kerry pointed out, and emphasized that there is “no politics in this. There is no ideology in this.”
