Thanks to a strategic alliance with private investors, the Venezuelan coffee roaster Caribbean Café made its first coffee export to Central America.

The project is part of the La Guaira Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and represents an achievement within the framework of the First Economic Transformation.

The operation was carried out from the Maiquetía Air Customs facilities, as reported by the governor of La Guaira state, José Alejandro Terán.

This initiative is joined by “private investors who process raw materials from the Central Coast to open doors to international markets with this product grown in the mountains of Carayaca and Biscucuy.”

The governor of La Guaira pointed out that Venezuela has the best coffee, “an export-quality product,” an activity that will open the door to generating foreign currency to invest in the social well-being of the people of La Guaira.

Governor José Alejandro Terán emphasized this last week in an interview with the state television channel, adding that “this initiative seeks to generate incentives for the private sector to promote investment in the country.”

He detailed that an “exceptional legal framework has been established that provides the necessary incentive to invest in the region,” including projects under development through partnerships with other nations, such as “a fully operational sunflower oil processing plant, a fish processing plant, and a toy factory with an initial capacity of approximately 50,000 toys per month.”

Terán also mentioned agreements already signed with two factories: one for fiber optics and another for yarns and fabrics. “In that context,” he announced, “the largest wheat processing plant in Latin America will be inaugurated soon.”

Through the “La Guaira Emprende Plan,” regional authorities have activated “the commercial and tourism sector, for the enjoyment of both residents and visitors.”

The establishment of three companies in the Venezuelan port state of La Guaira will initiate job placement and allow the state to become one of the most important in the country.

According to Eduardo Quintana, coordinator of Fedecámaras La Guaira, “there is hope and optimism at the regional level with the insertion of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the port state,” referring to three companies that are beginning the process of locating in the town’s industrial area.

“He explained that one factory is a fiber optic factory with Iranian capital, another is a textile factory of Brazilian origin, and another company is a LED screen factory.”

The official emphasized that La Guaira state has “various areas that can contribute to its growth, such as the port, the airport, trade, agriculture, fishing, and tourism.”

In this regard, he mentioned an agricultural area stretching from Carayaca to the borders of El Junquito, with high-quality cacao and coffee plantations that have earned international recognition.

The promotion of the tourism sector in the Special Economic Zone of the state of La Guaira is advancing through two hotel projects, according to statements by the national superintendent of the Special Economic Zones (ZEE), Johann Álvarez.

The official indicated that these are two projects in the hotel sector “with national capital investment.”

“The projects are Camurí Mar Beach Club, designed with 18 double-story cabins, at the moment it is 40% complete, also the Bahía Sunset Ecological Boutique Hotel, which uses discarded containers and converts them into cabins, to date they have a 35% execution,” declared Álvarez.

The developments in the state of La Guaira, where the country’s main port and the Maiquetía International Airport are located, are supported by national investment and seek to enhance local and international tourism in the state.

Álvarez highlighted that “the economic activity agreements will be signed, allowing investors to begin to enjoy the incentives regarding ISRL, the refund of import taxes, among some benefits.”

He added that the investors contributing to these developments in Venezuela come from China, Haiti, Latin American, African and Arab countries.
