Google has indicated that “there will be four elements in which you will receive personalized recommendations: books, applications, search results and offers.”

The suggestions are evident both in the application store and in “other applications that may have advertising or different content recommendation systems.”

In the recent update of Google Play appears the “Collections” feature, which has been designed to make it easier to discover content and applications consistent with the user’s local environment and that will allow you to find “region-specific offers and applications, which can be particularly useful if you are exploring a new place or on vacation.”

When you accept permission to access the location, the Google Play Store will display the options: allow access only while using the application, allow it only once, or not allow it at all.

If the user does not want to receive recommendations based on their location, they must deactivate the function in the Google Play settings. To do this, you must go to the profile photo in the upper right corner, select “Settings”, then “General”, and deactivate the “Use device location” option.

According to the company, what is sought is greater efficiency and speed in displaying the results, since those that the user has not requested are avoided.

Continuous, or infinite, scrolling will also soon disappear from mobile phones. For the moment, it was removed from the desktop version taking into account survey results in which some users indicated that it was not entirely satisfactory.

According to the specialized portal Xataka, users who still have continuous scrolling activated will soon stop seeing it and the page will “show a pagination bar that will allow us to access a numbered list of results pages.”

According to statements from two former Apple engineers, the company holds a “grudge” against Google since it acquired the Android operating system and made it the primary software for mobile phones.

The company is directing a “silent war” against the search engine to advance in fundamental sectors such as maps, developing features that allow separating Google products from its iOS operating system.

One of the latest improvements is Business Connect, a feature that allows businesses to customize their information cards in the map service, so they can interact with users, share offers and other content. With this launch, it differentiates itself from Google by offering iOS users features that can only be obtained with this app and therefore this operating system.

The company has reported that these developments are now available on all Android tablets and that they will then arrive at the first Pixel tablet, whose launch is expected in 2023.

One of the notable features of this update, which introduces functionalities aimed at improving productivity, is the introduction of split screen, which improves navigation between tabs.

With this new design, Google allows you to navigate between tabs by sliding your fingers on the navigation bar. Also, it introduces an auto-scroll back feature, which helps users to go back to the previous tab.

On the other hand, the company has reported that it will hide the close window button in order to avoid inadvertent closings when the windows are small (if several are open at the same time).

It has also introduced a new preview of tabs arranged in a grid, to improve the search for the desired tab without the need to consult all the web pages that are open.

Users will also be able to easily save content while browsing with a single gesture, that is, by dragging images, text and links from the Google Chrome browser to other applications. Among them, Gmail, Photos or Keep (notes).

Google has also stressed that from now on, it is possible on tablets with Android operating system to choose the desktop mode of a web page. That way, they can use features that are not available in the web versions whenever they want.

Finally, the company has indicated that groups of tabs, which allow greater organization and a more intuitive experience, will soon arrive at tablets that use Chrome.

This function, which Google Drive has been testing in its beta since November last year, seeks to simplify the search for users, trying to find relevant files without having to carry out several searches and will reach all users of the tool in the next 15 years. days, as the American company has assured.

To avoid cases where users search Drive for file terms that might return too broad results, such as ‘marketing plan’ or ‘sales report’, filters are located below the search bar and displayed after perform the.

These search filters allow results to be narrowed down by file type, whether it’s a document, PDF, or image, for example, who owns it, or what folder it’s in.

Other sections allow you to filter based on the date the document was last modified, according to shared labels or according to tasks.

Likewise, Google Drive has incorporated other improvements through its filters, starting to show writing suggestions, adding the option to eliminate the filters or with additional dates for the date filter.

According to Duy Nguyen, Google Search Quality Analyst, the new update will be more effective in the fight against spam webs because it will incorporate an expansion of its reach, managing to identify and cancel this type of links through more website and in different languages.

Links are one of the factors used by the technology company to evaluate the relevance of the content for its positioning in the results. In addition, it is a means by which owners can monetize their websites or blogs, which is why maintaining proper use of these tools is very important.

This update supposes a “reinforcement in the search algorithm to be able to determine what kind of sites are carrying out this type of inappropriate behavior and, once identified, take action on these actions”, Nguyen explains.

He detailed the best practices to carry out the incorporation of affiliate links, sponsors or third-party publications, highlighted that affiliate links, whether generated manually or dynamically, should be qualified as rel = “sponsored.”

Sponsor links should also be specified by rel = “sponsored.” “These, along with affiliate links, comprise the main source of monetization within this strategy.” Regarding third-party publications, posts written on behalf of another website to which the user is directed, it is necessary to identify them with the value of rel = “nofollow.”

According to Nguyen, the pages that are identified will not suffer a penalty, such as its closure. However, their positioning will be corrected by disregarding the links presented, which could lead to a drop in the ranking.
