<p style="text-align: justify;">The study is led by <strong>scientist Wang Jingsong</strong> of the National Satellite Meteorological Center, who described <strong>&#8220;nowcasting,&#8221; the immediate forecasting process that allows for &#8220;obtaining current atmospheric observations</strong> and using them to generate rapid, short-term predictions of future atmospheric conditions.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Jingsong indicated that <strong>the role of this system is crucial today, considering the abruptness of severe convective weather, which changes rapidly</strong> and reaches<strong> great destructive power.</strong> In this regard, &#8220;the lead time and coverage of this system still leave much to be desired and hardly meet the needs of emergency disaster response.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The researchers have taken advantage of the <strong>Fengyun-4 series of satellites for large-scale, uninterrupted monitoring to collect long-term data,</strong> &#8220;extracting and predicting the complex and random movements of convective cloud clusters.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Regarding the <strong>system&#8217;s coverage,</strong> it is estimated at <strong>approximately 20 million square kilometers,</strong> in addition to providing a <strong>high-resolution convective forecast every 15 minutes for up to four hours.</strong></p>
