Users will have the ability to react to an email with emojis, a novelty that Google has begun to deploy in the Gmail application for Android and that will arrive at iOS and the web soon.

Reactions offer a way to quickly express what you feel about a certain message, using one of the proposed emoji. This form of quick response has also been extended to Gmail emails.

The reactions are available for each of the emails that the user receives, as Google has explained on the Support page where this news is detailed. They appear as another quick reply option, with an emoji icon, at the end of the message.

This icon, when clicked, displays a series of emojis to express a reaction, but it is possible to access a larger selection. When you choose one that reflects the feeling that the message raises, this emoji will appear at the bottom of the message, above the quick response options.

Not only the user’s reaction will be shown, but also the reactions of other people, as the company clarifies. You can know who has reacted by simply pressing the emoji and holding it down.

Reactions, however, are not available for school or professional accounts. Nor if the message has been sent to a limited group mailing list or to more than 20 recipients, or if the user has sent “more than 20 reactions to the same message.”

Reactions to Gmail emails have begun to be implemented in the Android application, and will soon also reach the web version and iOS, as reported in The Verge.
