Xiaomi introduced its 200W fast charging system for smartphones in May and although it has not been incorporated into the brand’s latest flagship device, Mix 4, the company will start mass production next year.

The new generation of Xiaomi’s HyperCharge fast charge is capable of charging a 4,000mA wired battery at full 200W in 8 minutes, and wirelessly at 120W in 15 minutes.

The company highlighted this solution with a customized version of the Mi 11 Pro, but at the moment it has not been introduced in any commercial device, not even in the Mix 4 that was recently presented and that integrates the 120W fast cable charging solution.

The company plans to start mass production of the 200W fast charge next year, according to MyDrivers, where they also point out that it could come with the Mix 5 if they keep the family. However, the 120W wireless charging would not be that advanced.

Chinese tech manufacturer Xiaomi was formally removed from the ‘blacklist’ of companies with which US citizens and businesses cannot do business after the District of Columbia Court annulled the Chinese firm’s designation as a “Chinese communist military company.”

The final order, issued this week, “annuls Xiaomi’s US Department of Defense designation as a Chinese Communist Military Company (CCMC),” according to the company.

With the annulment of this designation, the court proceeded to formally lift all restrictions on US citizens to buy or dispose of Xiaomi securities.

In this way, one of the last decisions of Donald Trump’s Executive is reversed, in view of the fact that the previous US Administration decided to include the Chinese company on its sanctions list on January 15 of this year, less than a week before the presidential transition.

After being included in this ‘black list’ in January, the phone manufacturer decided to file a lawsuit against that decision already in March, the US Justice suspended in a precautionary way the inclusion of Xiaomi in said list.

Xiaomi promises users to charge their devices wirelessly without contact and through the air at a distance of several meters with its new Mi Air Charge technology.

My Air Charge is a wireless charging device that does not require direct contact between the charger and the phone or compatible wearable. With it, Xiaomi has entered “the true era of wireless charging.”

This charging device has five jamming antennas that can detect the position of the mobile phone, thanks to the beacon built into it. Another 144 antennas in a phase control matrix transmit millimeter waves, which are received in the mobile by 14 antennas that convert the signal into an electrical charge.

With this system, Xiaomi achieves remote wireless charging 5 watts through the air, several meters away, as the company explains in the statement published on its blog. It also supports charging of multiple devices simultaneously.
