Acer has introduced the first Chromebook in its Vero line of eco-friendly devices, featuring a chassis made from 30 % post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and packaging from 90 % recycled paper.

The technology company has carefully designed the Chromebook Vero 514 (CBV514-1H/T) so that it is easy to update, repair, disassemble and recycle, thus taking into account the useful life of the product.

Use recycled materials in most areas. Thus, it makes extensive use of PCR plastic, which accounts for 30 % of its chassis and 50 % of its keys and speakers. It also contributes to the reduction of ocean plastic waste, since it uses marine-derived polymers in the housing of its internal fan and in its OceanGlass touchpad, as stated in a statement.

Its exterior appearance is characterized by an unpainted chassis, finished in cobblestone gray, and a 99% recyclable display panel. Chromebook Vero 514 also features an impact-resistant exterior that meets MIL-STD 810H standards, plus a rugged design that protects you from drops up to 48 inches.

This computer is powered by 12th generation Intel Core processors and an Intel Iris Xe graphics card, and integrates a fast-charging battery, which charges up to 50 % of its ten hours of autonomy in just 30 minutes.

The 14-inch Full HD anti-glare display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection features 300 nits brightness and 100% sRGB color gamut. The slim bezel design offers a screen-to-body ratio that reaches 88 %.

This equipment also has a Full HD webcam with reflection reduction, and DTS audio, with Smart Amplifier. It also has support for the WiFi 6E standard and integrates a wide range of ports, including two USB type C, one USB 3.2 type A and one HDMI.
