According to recent statements by the president of the National Federation of Livestock Producers of Venezuela (Fedenaga), Édgar Medina, an increase in domestic meat consumption is projected for 2026.

Medina added in a radio interview that they are also seeking to “position the country as a potential exporter of meat, milk, and dairy products.”

The federation president maintained that to strengthen production, it is necessary to activate the credit portfolio in banks, as well as “facilitate the acquisition of breeding stock and renew agricultural machinery, and guarantee the supply of fuel to livestock farms.”

Furthermore, he highlighted the government’s coordinated efforts to import female cattle from Brazil and Colombia to increase national inventories and strengthen intensive fattening. This will ensure supply to the end consumer.

Medina emphasized that Venezuela has the ideal climate and land “to become a reliable exporter of meat, milk, and byproducts, consolidating the livestock chain and contributing to the national Gross Domestic Product.”
