Through his account on the social network Twitter, the Venezuelan Vice Minister for Europe, Franklin Ramírez, indicated that Venezuela is working on a tourist route to Warsaw through charter flights.

According to Ramírez, the conversations with the interim chargé d’affaires of Poland in Venezuela, Milena Lukasiewicz, point towards the start of this Warsaw-Porlamar-Warsaw connection in November of this year.

At the meeting, both officials also discussed bilateral diplomatic relations, and “the preparations for the 90th anniversary of the alliance between the two countries, next May.”

Talks began last January for a connection between the two countries, which allows visitors to be brought from Poland. At that time, the Polish airline LOT was mentioned as the one in charge of the transfer of travelers.

The initiative is part of the request made by President Nicolás Maduro to his cabinet regarding the opening of tourism as a substitute for dependence on oil.

The Polish government announced that it will pass national laws to prevent “coal imports from Russia and freeze the financial assets of individuals and entities that support Russia.”

The information was provided by Piotr Müller, spokesman for the Executive, who stressed that these measures were agreed upon during the Council of Ministers, held on Tuesday, March 29, because in the opinion of the Polish authorities: “We can no longer wait for the decisions of the European Union”.

According to Müller, the proposed measures “will go beyond the EU sanctions, since these “require unanimity from all member states.” However,  we are taking measures in Poland with the invocation of a “security clause.”

The Ministry of the Interior will be the entity responsible for drawing up the “list of personalities and entities” that would be impacted by the freezing of their assets. This list will be published in the coming days.

Freezing of financial assets and embargo  of coal imports

The Executive spokesman stated that the purpose of the Government is “to take measures that freeze various types of funds, including cash transfers, checks, money orders, deposits, any transaction that may benefit the Russian Federation. “It will also facilitate the freezing of economic resources, both tangible and intangible assets, movable and immovable.”

On the other hand, the Polish government has been facing strong criticism from its political opponents, who consider the government incoherent because the government. On the one hand it promotes the tightening of economic sanctions against Moscow; but on the other hand it continues to import large amounts of coal from that country.

Mateusz Morawiecki, Polish Prime Minister, in the first days of March stated that Poland is “prepared to implement an embargo on Russian coal imports at any time”, noting that up to now it has not been able to execute it because “trade agreements agreement signed by the EU affect Poland.”

Starting this week, Polish users will be able to play two video games from the television series for Android from within the mobile service app: Stranger Things 1984 and Stranger Things 3.

“We are in an initial stage and we still have a lot of work to do in the coming months, but this is our first step,” said the company, which has also recalled that its video games do not have advertisements or internal purchases.

The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which will transport Russian gas through the Baltic Sea to Germany, will be completed by the end of August, according to the general director of the Nord Stream 2 company, Matthias Warnig,

“We expect construction work to be completed by the end of August. 98 % of the pipeline has already been completed. The remaining 2 % corresponds to one of the two branches. The other one is fully built,” Warnig explained.

The executive said the goal is for the gas pipeline to be operational “before the end of the year.” At the same time, he dismissed information that suggested that there are problems with the certification of works required by the authorities in charge of granting licenses.

“In the end, we will have a gas pipeline that meets all the requirements in terms of international industrial standards and licenses,” he stressed.

Referring to Ukraine’s future role as a transit country for Russian natural gas, Warnig said he had not the slightest doubt that the passage through that country “will continue to be a fundamental part of the transport of gas from Russia to Europe after 2024.“

At the end of 2024 current transit agreement between Russia and Ukraine expires. “I suppose this has already been raised with Russia in the talks with the German government”, Warnig added.

The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline runs from Viborg in Russia across the Baltic Sea to Lubmin near Greifswald in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. After commissioning, it will transport 55 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year from Russia to Germany.

The project is controversial, as it has been criticized by various countries in the region, such as Poland and Ukraine. The US government also condemns it for considering that with him Europe will depend excessively on Russia for its energy supply.
