PlayStation Stars, Sony’s new loyalty program for users of its game console, will arrive in Europe, directly in Spain, on October 13, after its debut this Thursday in the Asian market.

Sony introduced PlayStation Stars in July, an initiative that allows players to win prizes for completing different campaigns and activities, from which they earn loyalty points that can later be redeemed in a catalog that will include funds for the PlayStation Network (PSN) wallet and certain PlayStation Store products.

This Thursday it debuted in Asia, including Japan, in a regional launch that precedes that of North America and South America (October 5) and, finally, that of Australia and the European market, where it will arrive on October 13, as reported in its Blog.

One of the characteristic elements of this loyalty program are the so-called ‘Digital Collectibles’, digital representations of characteristic elements of the console universe, such as iconic characters and devices that are part of the company’s history.

Sony has already clarified that these are not non-fungible tokens (NFTs) nor do they use blockchain technology, and therefore they cannot be exchanged or sold.
