If the test is positive, it is mandatory to isolate and carry out the confirmatory PCR, which will not have any additional cost for the passenger “which will be genomically sequenced to help identify new variants.”

On the other hand, it was established that people who are not vaccinated and come from non-red countries will have to present “pre-departure tests, day 2 and day 8 PCR tests. The launch test is still an option to reduce the period of self-isolation.”

As of October 4, England will grant a differentiated treatment to travelers from the United Kingdom who return fully vaccinated and come from 17 countries including Japan and Singapore, due to the success of the pilot carried out in the United States and Europe.

Countries such as Spain, France, Italy and Portugal which  are on the amber list will be reclassified and will be considered as low risk countries. While Turkey, Egypt, Maldives and Kenya stand out among the “eight countries that will come out of that list as of September 22”.

The European City Council sanctioned the coronavirus digital certificate, Covid-19 Passport, with which travelers can prove if they have been vaccinated, overcome the disease or have a negative PCR, promoting the mobility of Europeans for the summer season and the next period.

The initiative was approved with 546 votes in favor, 93 against and 51 abstentions, advancing in the process to facilitate its entry into force as of July 1st, although some countries such as Spain are already implementing it.

Benefits for travelers

The certificate is not equivalent to a passport, but it will facilitate entry to other countries, allowing you to benefit from exemptions from quarantines, tests at the time of entry or other measures, which many countries are already beginning to announce.

Some nations are adjusting their entry requirements to the regulations and in the coming weeks they will relax the restrictions they have been imposing on citizens of other member countries who can prove that they have been vaccinated, or have a negative PCR or have overcome the disease.
